Re: New Ford Endeavour (Ranger Based) 2012

What I meant was real SUVs are like Land Rovers; other like Ford Endy are truck, as they are called even in US.....simply add a roof & put a row of chairs, & whoa, it becomes SUV for India.

In short, putting seats in a truck, doesn't make it a bus.
i am perplexed, even the landrover has the pick up versions(i.e trucks ) and they too use chassis across the board between SUV's Explore the Land Rover Defender Explore Pick Up | Land Rover UK

In any case the image posted is more of a PS job and not a good one at it - i think we just have to wait and watch - hopefully not too long a wait..[cheers]

What a ugly looking truck, the new Endeavour will be even a bigger flop, even the people of punjab better buy fortuner for snob value, this is truely disappointing, damn.[thumbsdown]
+1. Really wonder in which age Ford is living in. Seems they went over-board with Figo & still haven't come to realise the reality post New Fiesta.
Ford Endy looks bad from all angles, even the age old Safari looks nice even now.

Buddy, this is altogether different vehicle. Ever seen Range Rover Sport as pick up truck or new Evoque as dual cab ?? They use altogether different platforms, with different interiors & features.

Eg. Scorpio/Bolero was designed as goods + passenger UV;
Safari is designed for passenger only. So, you find Safari far more comfortable that Scorpio/Bolero on all terms.

Hope you got my point.[:)]

Buddy you were talking abt Land Rovers a few posts back...Range Rovers evolved from Land Rover historically as a luxury marque..

Also the evoque is a brand new chassis and completely different segment/price. Lets not compare everything from a bolero to a evoque - their purposes are different

BTW just to add Range Rover Sport evolved from the Discovery series of Land Rover..

Endeavour fans rejoice! I’m told by a Ford representative that New Endeavour is expected to roll out in India in 2012. The dealership training seems to have begun already. I shall update further with more information as it happens to emerge. Expect the New Endeavour to be far more stylish, muscular and up-to-date.

And if they price base model at 16L, then even XUV will face serious heat.
Eagerly looking towards the pics.

Hi Umang , worldwide its sold in the everest/ranger guise - the 2012 endeavour is actually launched in many countries as ford ranger 2011. India doesnt get the cab/dual cab version but comes with the proper full body (as a suv)

Umang unfortunately there are no spy shots available leave alone official images, some renderings available but those are just renderings.. the grapevine is Todd Hoevener himself is in India to design the new endeavour - he is the one who designed the breathtaking explorer - so this time i have huge expectations with the endeavour.

Re: Fore Endeavour Everest coming in 2014

If this one really comes then I can expect it to be amongst hits.
Looks bigger, better, more SUVish and of curse more sophisticated at the same time when it is looking bullish too.
Let's wait for official launch..

Re: New Ford Endeavour (Ranger Based) 2012

2015 Ford Endeavour spied for the first time

The writing is on the wall for Ford Australia’s manufacturing base, but its engineering outfit in Victoria, Australia is unaffected by what’s happening around it. It will continue dishing out production and concept cars for global markets. One of them is the 2015 Ford Endeavour.

Ford unveiled the Ranger pickup truck in mid-2010 and its taken longer than many expected for the SUV top-hat to show up.

Production of the updated seven-seat Endeavour will begin next year in Thailand, with a public unveiling sometime in the second half of 2014. Size wise, it is larger than the Ford Territory, another high quality example developed by Ford’s Broadmeddows Engineering center. The Territory has shared its clothes with the test mule, so expect the final production model to look more original than the trial version.

The prototype is fitted with Ranger’s body shell up to the driver door while the rest of the body parts are donated by the Territory.

The mule also hints at a shorter wheelbase than the pickup. The current model uses the ute’s chassis in a largely unaltered form. A shorter wheelbase improves in-city drivability and off-road clearance.

Ford assigned its SUV specialist Todd Hoevener to lead this program in Australia about two years ago. Hoevener was fresh from launching the Explorer, a breakthrough SUV for Ford that put new materials and technologies to use to meet CEO Mulally’s ruthless fuel efficiency target. The media had then reported that if Hoevener’s team couldn’t meet his demands, Mullaly would call for the Explorer’s cancellation.

2014 Ford Endeavor Everest (Concept)

A couple of images suspected to be of a concept car that would serve as a precursor for the next generation Ford Everest/Ford Endeavour, have emerged this morning on some corners of the web.

Believed to be premature leaks, the Ford Everest Concept previews the styling of the next generation Everest/Endeavour which was last seen testing in Australia sporting donor parts from the Ranger pickup. The Endeavour is an SUV constructed on the Ranger pickup’s ladder frame chassis and has extended its stay with the assistance of cosmetic surgeries.

Launched in 2003, the Endeavour is positioned as an alternative to the Toyota Fortuner and Isuzu MU-7 in Asia. However the current model isn’t a global Ford and is not sold to every market where the pickup variant is available.

The Everest Concept features muscular wheel arches, angular headlamps like the Fortuner, the signature Aston-inspired grille and Santa Fe like connected foglight enclosures. The concept also features an identical fender vent with the model’s name inscribed on it.

The profile of the car is nothing like the current Endeavour with a more aerodynamic form complete with a flick on the window line and a sharp crease across the doors. The wraparound rear windshield is reminiscent of the Ford EcoSport and the nameplate stretching into the combination lights bodes well with the neatly styled rear.

If previous generations are referred, the interior of the incoming model would be almost identical to the current Ranger to contain cost. It should launch with three rows of seating with capacity to seat seven.

The engine range is usually also shared with the Ranger, so currently available options which are the 2.2 TDCI with 150 hp and 3.0 TDCI wit 200hp, are likely to be carried over.

Will Ford show the Everest Concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month? We hope so!
