Re: Nokia Lumia Series Smartphones Discussions and Experiences

No Raja, it is not desperate about it. I listen to FM most of the time in my car on car audio and at home with my home theater. I used to listen to FM on phone when I am travelling and am in a place where nothing is available(when in villages) but no problem, it is not a big issue for me and I can manage

Re: Nokia Lumia Series Smartphones Discussions and Experiences

According to a latest report from The Verge, Nokia is planning to release a 6-inch Lumia Windows Phone device later this year. This 6-inch Lumia device will run on Qualcomm Snapdragon Quad-core processor and 1080p display which is supported by the upcoming Windows Phone 8 GDR3 update.

This device codenamed Bandit will sport a rear camera that is at least 20-megapixels(we guess this might be the lytro style camera) which will cause slight hump at the back of the device. The device is also expected to be thin, lightweight, and made of polycarbonate body.

Except for the codename, all the above details got leaked already through various reports in the past few months. And based on the previous reports, the device is expected to be available in November.

Re: Nokia Lumia Series Smartphones Discussions and Experiences

Yes, Finally I got my 820 updated... Shining with Amber. FM Radio is quite easy to flip between channels.
Smart Camera is wonderful application got lots of features even can remove an object from a frame.
Yes, double tap to wake up from standby, no more hard pressing of Lock keys.
Other things, well, after long updating process, I am sleepy right now[sleep] will check and update later.
Took about 1.5 hours to update completely (my internet connection is bit slow and downloading at just 60kbps today). It was three different bundles I had to download and install one after another.
Thanks to Nokia for releasing FM Radio. Now Nokia rules, others got nothing to claim over Nokia Lumia now[clap]

Re: Nokia Lumia Series Smartphones Discussions and Experiences

We’ve got the Nokia Lumia 625 and one of the joys of this big screen smartphone is the 5-Megapixel camera with Full HD video recording. We took it out on a bright sunny day at Airbourne 2013 to check out ow effective the camera and video capture is on this Windows Phone 8 budget smartphone.

The Nokia Lumia 625 is built around a 4.7-inch IPS LCD display with a standard 800 x 480-pixel resolution. It comes with a curved glass screen, Gorilla Glass 2 and super-sensitive touch technology for use with nail and gloved hands.

The Nokia Lumia 625 is the largest Lumia to-date and comes with an overall size of 133.25 x 72.25 x 9.15mm and weight of just 159g.

The screen is on the big size but we found the phone compact enough to hold up for long periods without it being a burden.

The big screen makes it an ideal viewfinder and we found that when taking photos and recording video even on the brightest sunny day, we could see what was going on – try doing that with a lesser smartphone and see how much you can make out on the display.

When it comes to camera skills, the Nokia Lumia 625 is fitted with a 5-Megapixel camera that offers LED Flash and autofocus. As well as support for such Nokia Lumia exclusive apps as Cinemagraph , Panorama, Smart Camera and Nokia Glam Me, you’ll find that it also comes with a VGA front-facing camera.

However, what makes the Nokia Lumia 625 stand-out from the other smartphones in its price range is the fact that it comes with Full HD 1080p video recording at 30fps, which is pretty remarkable considering this phone costs less than £180 (inc. VAT) on PAYG deals.

Nokia Lumia 620 is now available for $99.99

Nokia's mid-range smartphone, the Lumia 620 is now available for a cheap price tag of $99.99 from Aio Mobile. At the above pricing, the device comes to you without any prior commitments, but the smartphone will be locked to AT&T's network.

Even though, the Nokia Lumia 620 is almost a year old model, the Finnish manufacturer has announced that the smartphone will indeed get the Amber update by the end of September. So, this should make the Lumia 620 deal even sweeter.

In case you are wondering the hundred bucks get you a 3.8-inch ClearBlack LCD of WVGA resolution as well as two Krait CPU cores clocked at 1GHz, Adreno 305 GPU and 512 MB of RAM.

Re: Nokia Lumia Series Smartphones Discussions and Experiences

An unnamed source has told Reuters Nokia is preparing to announce a phablet next month.

The “large-screen mobile handsets “ will “challenge rival Samsung’s dominance in increasingly popular phablet devices” and will be announced at an event in New York in Late September, sources familiar with the plan said.

The device, which is expected to have a screen bigger than 5 inches, will be part of a range of handsets, and may also include a tablet.

A large-screened Nokia phablet has already been leaked, and is expected to have a 1080P screen and quad-core processor, with speculation of a 20 megapixel or more camera also being included.

Re: Nokia Lumia Series Smartphones Discussions and Experiences

WPC claims to have confirmed the specs of the rumoured Nokia Phablet which has already been widely leaked.

The handset will apparently “ be a 6 inch, 1080p, quad core device with gdr3 and a 20MP camera. It will be reportedly very thin with a slight camera hump akin to the Lumia 925.”

The data of course merely confirms what we have heard previously and is likely the very same aluminium-clad device which leaked before .

Despite Reuter’s claim of a later September launch in New York WPC also claims the handset will only be hitting the market in November, which in fact makes a lot more sense and allows the 925 and 1020 at least a few months to breath.
