Re: Clutch plates of honda city

Sir
how does we get to know that our clutch plates requires change,
Mr.City Boy sir, the usual behaviour i have come across diesel vehicles are, feeling like drop in pickup on a incline.

Sticky power situation, where inspite of accelerating there is a drop in pickup and then continues acceleration normally.

But there is a feeling of sudden drop in pickup and gains the momentum.

And failure may occur when there is oil spillage in Slave cylinder.

Suddenly the clutch pedal gets floored.

Another way of knowing that your clutch has gone is through smell. When the clutch is going in a vehicle, most often it will omit a pungent burning rubber smell. You may smell it in the passenger compartment, but you'd also smell it once you parked the vehicle and got out of it.
The friction material of the clutch is much like the material of a brake shoe, when it is worn and contacts the flywheel improperly, it creates this bad smell that is almost a clear indication that the clutch needs to be replaced.
