because i think they have sensors outside so they can detect. I mean my ACC automatically adjust the AC if it is hot and it starts to rain, then it reduces automatically.
Its just that you are provided with 2 different temperature settings- one for the left vents (2 left vents on the dash & the left vent of rear seat) & the other for the right vents (2 right vents on the dash & right vent of rear seat).
if the left passenger is feeling cold, he can adjust the temperature of his vents (left) to a higher temperature setting. this is in a dual zone ACC.
Some high end cars even have 4 zone ACC - left front, left rear, right front (driver) & right rear. all four zones have their independent controls for temperature adjustment.

There is a product called 'Drive smart available in India. It will maintain the cabin temperature at the preset level. If you are a DIY enthusiast you can achieve a similar or even better setup with sensors for external temperature, rain etc using Arduino Uno or any similar DIY electronics kit.
