i am thinking of installing ac in my maruti 800 which has run 60k in 5 years.
Can you please tell how much this is likely to cost and how does the warranty work ?

i dont want to get it installed from MASS since they are very expensive

Re: Installing AC in Maruti 800

My suggestion sell it. And buy another second hand with AC. One should get rid of 800 without AC asap. After 1-2 year you will not get any takers for it. I too did the same. Reason to sell my 800 was
1. It was non AC. 2. It has been discontinued by Maruti( which i feel something very wrong, as people loved this car very much.)

But still if you want to be with it. Get a Good quality new AC only.

Yes. Sanden is the best choice. I was really impressed with the AC Chilling in a 800 with sanden. Don't go for a used one or the reconditioned ACs. What ever you save initially have to be paid back along with spending twice the valuable time in garage to repair it in near future.

Re: Installing AC in Maruti 800

there might be shops doing complete A/C solutions for cars, google them for your area and check out with them.Pricing should be between 22k to 26K negotiable.MASS are very expensive so dont go to them.
hey Vibhor should have better idea about your needs, he owns M800 himself and he stays in Delhi too.

Re: Installing AC in Maruti 800

Do not go for used ones if you plan to keep the car for few more years. Always problems with gas leakages/ blowers and switches.

AC is a precision job for most of the MASS and lot of them take outside help on AC. Get a good AC mechanic and try shops who specialize in AC jobs with multi cars Servicing. Sanden is a good brand.

A good job will last 4-5 seasons. Must use a good sun contol film if you want effective cooling in M800.

Your Maruti 800 does not have a heater? I think, it's a DX version. Right?
