This beautiful stretch of road where we tested Manza to 170 km/hour (in our trip in previous year) has been disrupted by the construction of (underbridge) crossings at frequent intervels. These crossings seem to be narrow and could be for cattles, bullock carts and two wheelers/3 wheelers.
After Chitradurga, we were searching for a fuel station once guage dial was showing half mark. Found one and stopped there for a tea break.
Started again after tea and re fuelling, it were on cruise again.
Soon it was dark and we passed Hubli and Belgaum quickly.
After Belgaum, we stopped near a dhaba where there were lot of cars and finished dinner (packed from home - food was intact and tasty)
There were lot of long distance (travels) buses heading towards Mumbai and they are ruling the road.
One more fuel top up after Satara at midnight.
Toll booths in Maharashtra side are seen more frequent and fees are comparatively higher.
There was a long traffic jam near a tunnel (Khambatki ?)
Again traffic jam before entering the Express way near Pune.
Once we were in Mumbai - Pune Expressway, it was a disturbing chaotic traffic. It was early morning and it was dark still (around 3 am). Long array of vehicles in three lanes and some drivers changing the lines frequently whenever they get some gap.
On the way, one Tavera (apparently) slightly touched a canter mini bus. A group of people were arguing in the middle of the highway and then Tavera driver took the vehicle quickly and tried to get away from the scene. Driver of Canter mini bus got enraged by this and was chasing Tavera like a maniac.
Both of them were driving dangerously and criss crossing the traffic and changing lines to out smart each other. Finally Canter over powered Tavera and sidelined it to the barricade.
We just moved on.
