Škoda Auto and its regional partner and investor, the Thanh Cong Group, officially opened a new production plant in Vietnam on March 26, 2025 for the assembly of Škoda Slavia and Kushaq.

- By importing completely knocked down (CKD) kits of the cars from India and assembling them locally, Škoda is capitalising on geographical synergies.
- The locally assembled models will form cornerstone of Škoda’s portfolio in Vietnam, complementing the Karoq and Kodiaq SUVs imported from Europe.
- Located in Quang Ninh province, the facility is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including a welding shop, a paint shop, and a final assembly line.
- The site also features a quality control centre, a precision measurement facility, and two-kilometre-long test track designed to replicate the local road conditions.
- Škoda launched operations in Vietnam in September 2023 and oversees Volkswagen Group’s activities in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) region.
- Vietnam serves as a strategic gateway to the Indo-Pacific region So far, 15 sales outlets have been opened in Vietnam and it is planned to expand to 32 dealerships in 2025.
