Quality was okay but the finished was terrible. Hard to find Chevy parts, anyhow have to close the old hole with broken lamp.

Came with a 27W bulb. By history these elcheapo bulbs won't last a month.
2016-06-21 20-09-14.JPG

Bought Phillips H27W/2 at ₹ 430.52/pair. MRP ₹220.00 per piece.

July 2016:

The Honeymoon Car
Our first long trip and my longest to-fro drive. Trivandrum-Kodaikanal-Trivandrum via NH44 aka NH7 (Did the same on FZ twice). None of our other cars were roadworthy (read service due), so took the risk of taking the just-out-after-engine-rebuild Bolt 850 km total. Cruise was effortless, maintaining 80 km/h most of the time without straining the engine. Returned 19 kmpl with full AC and 70% highway 30% ghat and traffic.

Checked alignment the night before. Threw away number plate frames.
2016-06-28 19-42-45.jpg

All set to go before sun is up.
2016-07-01 05-45-24.JPG

Filled up tank just after entering Tamil Nadu, diesel was cheaper by 2.5 and petrol 4.5 there.
2016-07-01 07-09-22.JPG

First pitstop. Hotel Sri Gowri Shankar near Nagercoil. (On return trip, got poisoned from there). Been our regular pitstop whenever passing by.
2016-07-01 07-50-25.jpg

Served hot.
2016-07-01 07-52-45.jpg

Somewhere in between NH66 and NH44.

NH66. Pure bliss 4 lanes. Watch out for wrong siders and (illegal) crossers (through conveniently cut sections of dividers).
2016-07-01 09-41-02.JPG

Reddiarpatti Hill. One of the famous movie shoot spots.
2016-07-01 10-11-15.JPG

(Adyar Ananda Bhavan) A2B Restuarant at BPCL Ghar COCO Pump near T Andipatti. Cant imagine getting out of car. Sun was hot like fire. Had lunch from there on return trip.

Scraped underbody. GC too low, cant even park half off the road.

Pillar Rocks. Wrong season. No good seeing it out of mist.
2016-07-02 12-50-43.JPG

Clear valley. Had bad experience after this. Stopped exploring, went back to room and packed up to leave. Did not see rest of the Kodai, mood spoilt by an ****** constable. Just wanted bribe. All paper clear and every document in original and no fault to find. Ended up in the verge of booking me for drunken driving (I'm a proud teetotaller). Stood adamant and agreed for medical checkup. After another cop intervening, he left me. Missed many places.

Next was the puncture mafia. The day of check-in, saw the hotel manager changing flat tyre. Thought was because of debris from the construction work going on. On day of check-out, it was my chance. Got a flat tyre, so was sure it was intentional. Had two nails. Paid 250 for fixing them. To my surprise, the small shed guy even had tyre changing machine.

Saravana Bhavan. I think was near Kovilpatti or Virudhunagar. Forgot. Again, getting out was impossible. Terribly hot. Even the AC could not help. Food was fine.
2016-07-03 14-52-40.JPG

Could do this, but was not comfortable with speeds. (Co-driver click) (Don't click and drive).

I love windmills.
2016-07-03 16-15-30.jpg

Reached home safe. Bought a lot of (non)homemade chocolates, fruits, teddies, bags, etc. Tried many cuisines (north indian, tibetian, arabic, etc.).

Whole experience ruined by the Kodai cop and the juice from Nagercoil (one week of Nagercoil belly).

(Had no intention to put up a travelogue and not enough for a separate thread, avoided posting picturique photos, as most of them were personal).

Congrats on crossing the 50k km mark. [:)] One question - will you recommend the diesel version Beat for extensive usage (upwards of 20k/yr) based on your experience with the product? Most of the people using Beat say that ASS experience is a hit or a miss, and are not exactly satisfied with their purchase.

Also I am not able to view some images, please look into it.

I would never recommend one. Service/dealer network is diminishing. Parts prices are going up. Chances of lemon pieces are high. Out of warranty and paid service costs are very high. Resale value is also pretty low. For what we spent till now, we could have bought a Wagon R and ran 50k and saved a lot [frustration]. Total expenditure on car excluding fuel is around 2.31 L till date.

Missing pictures.

Somebody broke mirror glass today while parked.

Got some Delhi-make duplicate Convex glass. Red FOX. MRP 200, got for 170. Fits and works fine.

Wiper change. Bought Bosch Clear Advantage, was looking for Minda frameless, but out of stock. Got pair for ₹ 630.00 after ₹80.00 off on MRP.

Good updates buddy.
And yes I absolutely hate those plastic screw types. Sometimes you have to break them to get em off. They just keep spinning where they are. The trick is to spin them without pressing them at all (seems impossible at times).

I brought a spare dozen from Mahindra Service last time for my XUV.
