Everything was running fine until I started to notice some metal sound from the right front end. It can only be heard while passing through a bad patch or un even roads. Initially I though it was the lower arm and later it was found that the right strut was kaput and it was leaking badly, I must say very badly.

Got an appointment at Peninsular Honda for the next day.

Damaged Strut removed.

New one.

Even though they had these spring clips, dismounting the springs from the old strut was still a task and took around 15-20 mins.

IMG_20170828_100457533.jpg

Right Strut price : 2471 Rs

Refitting everything back.

Tadahh. !!

IMG_20170828_101119016.jpg

..and then came to know that the left lower arm bush started to wear off. Since they had the part readily available and the car was already on lift, asked them to change it as well.

IMG_20170828_101457180.jpg

New lower arm.

IMG_20170828_101405165.jpg

Lower arm price : 1231 Rs

IMG_20170828_101514477.jpg

Back in place.

IMG_20170828_101736266.jpg

Came back home and since I was running around a week with the faulty suspension..the oil was all around the alloys. I couldn't control myself. Removed all four wheels and gave a pampering session. Cleaned up the wheel well areas to the max reach.

Result

IMG_20170828_145720186.jpg

..and the final bill amount. Left strut was out of stock and I need the car running asap . So will change the left strut once the stocks arrive. Changed the suspension bush as well. Check out the GST for these parts. 28%[frustration]

I must say the prices of these parts are great considering the competition!

Great thread buddy and keep clocking those happy miles.

I too own the same ride and just did the 80k service. To my surprise Honda charges a lot for every 10k.

At 80k it was some 2k for the paid service, which I feel is too much.

The car is good but it’s way below Honda’s standard in terms of nvh. On highways at 140 you literally feel you’re on the airport runway. Nvh is too high, will have to think of dampening to reduce it.

Thank you :)

Is it ? I always felt the Service charges in par with the competition.

Yes NVH was an issue for me, but not now. I've damped the whole car and upgraded my sound system [;)]

Why did they charge 28% GST for parts. the box price says MRP. and i find a 300 differece for the damper unit. or am i understanding this wrong ?

Hello,
My Amaze Diesel has completed 38k on odo in 3 yrs. Had a visit to Capital Honda service center Prungudi Chennai today for service. But due to the heavy load ,did not get a slot today. They have promised to take the car tomorrow. Here are my issues with Amaze.
1. Front Left wheel wobbles.
2. Hard clutch.
I mentioned the issues to SE. He suggested to change all 4 tyres& Replace clutch. Reg Wobbling, he said he needs to lift the car to see the issue so couldn't do it today.

My Questions are:
1. What is the life of a clutch & Tyres? I know this question is insane. I am a good driver[:D]. But still I have lazy [cry]habit of moving the car from Second Gear after signal.

Does the tyre wobbles at lower speeds too ? If yes then definitely the tyre has some problem.
There's no definite time of clutch and tyres , it all depends on the type of roads being driven and how one drives the car.
If you move the car in second gear from standstill i am amazed the clutch lasted 38k kms. Change your habit or you will have to keep changing clutch plates early.

Done with my 40k service in Capital Honda service Centre பெருங்குடி chennai. Car Wobbles in slower speed. Tyre needs to changed is the only solution. Regarding full clutch, the whole of Clutch assembly needs to be replaced which costs around 28k.

28k ? That's on the higher side. What all parts needs to be replaced ? If the advisors says they will change the flywheel also then ask him how can he say without checking the part first. Don't change it if condition's good.

First, get wheels balanced and get alignment checked and check with the tyre guy regarding the condition of the tyre.

Second, for clutch take to an outside garage for second opinion. Never heard of anyone changing the whole assembly in such a low odo no matter how bad driving style is. Even then changing plates and bearing will do, which should not cost more than 10k.

Either the SA is too dumb, or too much worried about monthly incentives (like most underpaid SAs)

Guys

I have done 58k in amaze. I get clutch squeeze noise. Service center guys lubricated clutch fork and slave cylinder piston couple of times. But issue repeats after a day or 2. Finally they removed all the clutch related parts analysed and suggested for replace of clutch and cost around 21k approximate. Any one have changed clutch and what is the life span.

I recently changed them at 45500 km, it costed me around 12k including labor. They replaced clutch plates, pressure plate. Are they saying to replace flywheel & slave cylinder for you?

They just mentioned the cost, looks like both had to be changed. SA was saying while rubbing the powder comes and gives noise. For now they have lubricated the noise is not noticable and comes rarely. It may run another 10k.

Excellent review on Amaze. Even my +2 classmate has one in Diesel, driving in Bangalore and he has been happy with around 26 kmpl mileage (Diesel) on highway at 80 kmph speed and below 2k rpm.

He says his top speed was 150 kph at risk and 120 was good enough with 22 kmpl mileage.

When I asked for his suggestion to buy myself one, he suggested me to go for Maruti Dzire, as he says, I would end up spending almost 50% more in spares, and of course labour charges, when compared to Maruti rival. I will be forced to spend more only for the sake of Honda brand, he says.

Bit confused. Can someone guide me here ? My daily usage would be 48 kms exactly, which accounts for a monthly 1000 km for office commute, and additionally my outstation trips would be another 6k-7k kms, which ends up in around 18-19k kms a year.

Thanks in advance.
