Dear Friends,

Online shopping has all but replaced Brick & Mortar stores for most of us. Better choice, Wider variety, Lower prices, COD facility all helps us lazy beings. I would like to open this thread so we can share our good or bad experiences we had with online shopping. Let me start with a good one from My side.
[Honest Review] MyTVS TDI-22 Vacuum Cleaner & Tyre Inflator

I raised a complaint to Flipkart regarding sub-standard quality of the product. Even though the product was 20 days old, they offered me a return and refund option in special case. Total thumbs up.
I am Thankful to report that Flipkart has processed full refund & Return process for the said item. I did not have to claim warranty or talk to the seller or anything. I just reported Poor quality of the product with Images and they did it. Just today I got refund in my bank!

P.s- It seems something has got messed up. I could not understand how to Move the image down and have text up.
P.s2- Thanks for fixing my thread!

Pathetic service experience with Amazon-
Dear all,
I am afraid to present my extremely disappointing and frustrating purchase with Amazon.
17 October 2018 Order # 408-7723445-4992304, I place an order for an Item.
Fri, Nov 9, 2018, Seller ships the item. This is where string of bad events start. The product is shipped directly from china! Its nowhere mentioned that product will come from china! I wonder why amazon has no clear poilcy on this? If it was mentioned clearly, I would have gone for Aliexpress which will be not just cheaper but also faster in most cases. And do you really need 20+ days to ship an item? I mean seriously?

of couse, I being patient guy that I am, I decided that I shall wait. I wonder why I did'nt cancel the order right there and then, Which should've saved me from a lot of headache. Well.

Wed, Nov 21
. Once fine day, when I had almost forgotten about this item, A Carry bag arrived at my place. Wonder what it was. Yeah it was the item. In a carry bad! I mean forget a box, nicely wrapped in bubble wrap or just anything. The seller had shipped the item in plain plastic bag with zero protection!
Wed, Nov 21, 2018 at 4:34 PM. Naturally, the product was damaged. And I raised the return request.

Wed, Nov 21, 2018 at 4:48 PM- Seller asks the product to be sent back.
Wed, Nov 21, 2018 at 8:18 PM- I say, do not want to be bothered for a return shipment. Please arrange for a pickup.
Thu, Nov 22, 2018 at 9:46 AM- Amazon or seller denies any help regarding pickup or return shipping label/ Prepaid package. or any other way. This is where the events turn for the worse. Somehow I accept that I will send the parcel back, using my own courier expenses. The seller agrees a full refund along with any shipping charges incurred. I wish i had some sanity and dumped the product back into the garbage bin and never gave it a second thought but. Read on.
(Dear customer,
Thank you for contacting us, we already told you we will bare the courier charges so please send the item to our address through any courier, we will pay the courier charges also, please send the item to below address

Return Address: shopping world
9-11-80, 1st floor
kk towers, kasba bazaar, beside hunuman temple
KHAMMAM, TELANGANA 507001
IN.)
Thu, Nov 23, 2018 - I Get a nice box. Pack the item well. now the parcel is much larger than what it arrived as. I spend about 100 odd bucks on Packaging and handling, and further 240 for DTDC courier. Total expenses about 350. I have photographic proof of this.
As I had reciept for only Rs.240, I present the same to the seller and Amazon CS.
(Hello,
I have dispatched the product, Details below

Amazon.in Order Number: 408-7723445-4992304
-- Name of the courier company- DTDC
-- Tracking or AWB (air waybill) number- P48135896
-- Return address- Shopping world, Telangana.
Shipping cost-INR 240.)

Wed, Nov 28, 2018 at 7:56 AM- Apparently, Seller receives the product and Amazon asks mode of payment if I want a cheque or NEFT? NEFT , I say. I wonder why Amazon has to ask this.

Mon, Dec 3, 2018 at 2:49 PM Amazon credits refund. Partial one. WTH! Where is the courier expenses that you had promised? I again shoot an email to Amazon asking why they have not credited courier charge as promised! Please note that the courier receipt was already sent to amazon on my previous emails. I send it again. Now amazon starts acting like they are doing a favor by considering shipping charges.

Thu, Dec 6, 2018 at 2:29 PM
Dear Customer,
Greetings from Amazon.in
We are writing to confirm that your refund for Rs.130.00 has been processed for your Order # 408-7723445-4992304. Item: SWD Prime Electrolytic Battery Hydrometer Dial Easy Read Battery
Quantity: 1
ASIN: B07G33TCN6
Reason for refund: Customer return

Here’s the breakdown of your refund:

Return Shipping Refund: Rs.100.00
Goodwill Refund: Rs.30.00

What the hell? Dear amazon, If you can read well, The expense I incurred was Rs 240. How the hell is amount of rs 100 being calculated? It does not make any sense. And you are NOT DOING A FAVOR by adding Rs 30 as GOODWILL refund. If you have to prove your goodwill, I would expect a fitting compensation for all the hassle I did since October dealing with your incompetent sellers and substandard products and services! Please note that I have NOT RECEIVED this refund in my account or any other way till date.

Thu, Dec 6, 2018 at 4:13 PM My mails to amazon start bouncing. Apparently they use disposable or No reply emails making it very hard to get back to them. Just becuase Amazon thinks something is done, and opinion of customers do not matter, they are using this one way communication. I somehow reach them again. God I am really frustrated sending my roughly 50th email or so.

Sat, Dec 8, 2018 at 11:25 PM
(Dear Customer,
Greetings from Amazon.in
We are writing to confirm that your refund for Rs.110.00 has been processed for your Order # 408-7723445-4992304.
This refund is for the following item(s):
Item: SWD Prime Electrolytic Battery Hydrometer Dial Easy Read Battery
Quantity: 1

Reason for refund: Customer return
Here’s the breakdown of your refund:
Goodwill Refund: Rs.110.00
Notes: refunded full amount
Your refund is being credited as follows:
Cheque: Rs.110.00)

A cheque? Who asked for a bloody cheque? And If Amazon has employed some sane people that the read English numbers and letters, I have been clearly mentioned since last 10 emails that the expense I incurred was 240. Now their numbers of 110 nor previous 130 match up with this. Nor have they bothered to explain how they are coming to these numbers.

Sun, Dec 9, 2018 at 7:21 AM My Emails bounce as expected.

Sun, Dec 9, 2018 at 9:41 AM- My review for the product is removed. Yes., Amazon likes is cheater sellers and substandard products more than a honest review. Atleast I tried to warn other from falling into the trap. Does not fit with 'Amazon POLICIES" yeah right.

Sun, Dec 9, 2018 - I spend 15 mins again On Amazon chats to get a proper escalation and talk to someone like a Supervisor or Manager. The Customer service agent books a callback from Manager in some time. Never get any call.

So to sum it up,
I was expecting that Amazon service department hires some properly trained staff who can read and understand what a customer is going through. But I wonder if "How to agitate customer", "101 ways to infuriate an old loyal customer" and "How to waste customer time & Energy for dummies" forms a part of Amazon Training program. Then congrats! You have really succeeded your goals. Because your Customer service agents nor the seller was properly reading any of my emails. Nor understanding what I said. Infact, A customer should never have to do all such hard work and explanation, All this should not have happened in the first place! This is one of the prime reasons I have switched to other shopping places like flipkart who have welcomed me with open arms and offer delightful customer service.

In the closing dear Amazon,
You have lost one of your old and loyal customers (You can check my joining date) and I am never going to look back. Whilst the product as well as seller was incompetent, it was the lethargic or lack of support from Amazon has prompted me to take such drastic measures. I am also going to make these posts available on all kinds of social media and respected forums to warn others from falling into the mistreatment that I had to endure. Thanks.

Sorry, that was a horrible ordeal with Amazon. I thought Amazon was one of the professional online company, but your experience gives a chance to think otherwise [confused]

Since last 5~6 Months i have already shifted to Flipkart. However there are few stuffs which are not available on FK (Missing Ebay!). Many of ebay retailers have come to Amazon it seems. Another problem is hidden shipping fees. Its always mentioned free shipping but a hidden fee is added on checkout. Its very had to find which item has attracting how much shipping. I have talked to Amazon regarding this and they just ignore it.

BTW, Kind request to all members, Since I am not on any social media, You guys can help by posting this message on all possible social media, twitter and so on. Would be grateful.

Recently I purchased a couple of small items without any problem/damages to the item. Previously, I used to deal with ebay (purchased almost 25 items) and I was very very happy with their dealing. Seems, will have to be careful henceforth when dealing with Amazon[think].

I have been shopping in amazon and flipkart for the last 2 -3 years. So far i have not faced any issue. Initially for 2/3 occasions tried snapdeal. But the experience with snapdeal was horrible.
I really like the return/refund policy of flipkart. I have returned number of items and flipkart refund was quick [:D]

Writing my one more Pleasant experience with Flipkart.

1. About 6 months ago, I buy a Phone, Asus Zenfone from Flipkart
2. About 2 Months ago, The phone stops working, Not recognizing any sims or networks
3. I reach Asus service, As phone was in warranty. I get turned down, Saying serial No. Is invalid or Tampered.
4. I write to Flipkart, They point me to Asus TAIWAN for more help. I do so.
5. Asus Taiwan replies the same, Phone has been tampered so cannot be serviced in Warranty.
6. I write back to Flipkart, with proofs of communication, That a Tampered or Refurbished or Counterfeit phone has been sold to me.
7. Flipkart talks with the seller, Pickus up phone.
8. I Get a FULL refund in my bank within days.

I wonder how many online shopping portals will take back a 6 month old phone for a full refund? Really made my day.

The ordereal Continues.
I ordered an SSD on Amazon because it was not in stock on FK (or too high of a price).
Unfortunately The amazon handed it over to Delhivery courier which is the worst possible courier I know.
Then the events unfolded in most predictable manner-
1. Delhivery makes order late by a good 4~5 days.
2. Dehlivery calls me to pick the parcel at THEIR office.
3. When I say you have to deliver at my address, the dehlivery LIES and Cancels the order, Saying "CUSTOMER REFUSED ITEM"

4. I took a good conversation with Amazon help center. But thats all what I can do.
Do click on the images to read.

Oh.. that's a horrible experience.

I think only few Agents are behaving like what happened to you.

The Amazon agents in my area are very good and deliver the parcel the day they received (In fact, I have been receivingparcels delivered at home since I started buying from Amazon). Previously, I used to buy things from ebay and never ever received a parcel delivered at home, instead they call us and we will have to pick it from their office.

@bhvm

Sirji, go for KINGSTON A400 240GB instead. It costs same as WD Green (around 2.5k) but has higher R/W speed (~500MB/s). Also the case is made of aluminum so it stays cool. I have Samsung 860 EVO that has plastic case and it burns like hell. WD Green also has plastic case so it will run hot. WD has degraded quality of entry level products lately so not reliable like before.

You can buy from MDComputers or OnlySSD (aka PrimeABGB). However, call and confirm stock before placing order.

Thats Interesting.
yes, The courier agents in My area are very crappy.
I have written to Amazon Management with escalation suggesting they change the Agents which will solve 90% of issues. They have not done so.

My Experiences with Ebay have been very pleasant. Ebay follows different work methodology than Amazon/ FK. There you can talk to the seller directly and get things sorted out. Hence I could request them to send Things via DTDC or SPEEDPOST and hence have parcels right up to my doorstep. I would happily buy all electronics on Ebay but Alas, FK brought them and shut em down. I really miss Ebay.

Oh thats a cool observation. I will certainly go for Kingston!
Kingston A400 240 GB Laptop, Desktop Internal Solid State Drive (SA400S37/240G) - Kingston : Flipkart.com

BTW these SSDs are for really old Laptops (Sata 1, 150 MB/s) so read speeds may not matter. But reliability certainly will.

P.S- I was able to remind Amazon of Pending refunds and hence they gave me Amazon Pay voucher. So one matter sorted.

Yes, indeed. Ebay's dealings were different. I have bought almost 25/30 products from ebay and never had problems, other than the delivery issue (of course, that's the problem with the local office of the courier services).

So far, my dealing with Amazon was good and satisfied (did not buy any product from FK so far)!

Price is high and seller is unknown. I always buy PC parts from PrimeABGB, OnlySSD, MDComputers and etc because these are well known sellers and warranty claims go easy (we have to ship the item for RMA though).

Not just RW speed, SSDs have high speed random access so even old laptop should perform better then HDD.
