Oh yes just now noticed it! Noticed the price only for the base model and felt it was competitive!! Highline models are definitely costly but maybe Polo has the features to justify its price tag!

I am quite impressed with the no-compromise approach to safety, with Dual Airbags and ABS being standard across the product line up.
Given this, the pricing is pretty impressive.
What is surprising is the pricing relationship with Skoda. In Europe, Skoda is the poor cousin.
Here, are the roles being reversed?

Hey Aditya the airbags and ABS are available only in the highline model!!

The highlights are:

Halogen headlamps as standard
Green tint to block sun rays as standard
Remote keyless entry in highline
Window roll up/down in remote in highline
Galvanized body with Anti corrosion warranty for 6 years
Engine immobilizer as standard
Dual airbags and ABS in highline
Tiltable steering wheel which comes as standard
Height adjustable driver seats as standard

Seeing the list of features i feel the pricing is pretty competitive! Though many of the features are present in existing Hatches some features are new to this segment!

Overall i feel a pretty good car with decent looks and an affordable price tag! Though the pricing of the highline variant could have been lesser!!

The Polo is one of the biggest B-segment cars in India. Interiors are well-built and made of good quality materials. The front seats are supremely comfortable and roomy. The rear however, may feel cramped for taller people. The seat itself is quite comfortable but legroom and headroom could have been better. The boot is quite spacious and the Polo easily out scores its rivals here.

The 1.2-litre petrol motor, which produces 75bhp of power, is a heavily modified and a much improved version of the Fabia's 3-pot motor. It has a very strong midrange, although you can hear some of the 3-cylinder thrum while on the move. While this 1.2 is not a patch on the responsive K-series engine of the Swift, and if you are not a spirited driver, the engine performance is more than adequate.

The 1.2-litre diesel engine, that will be available only from May this year, feels rev-happy and peppy. It feels like a modern diesel and its refinement levels are quite comparable to the Fiat’s Multijet diesel. Although there is some turbo-lag below 2000rpm, the midrange is quite decent. The free-revving engine pulls till 5200rpm but the power starts to tail off from 4500rpm onwards.
Pricing is certainly competitive, assuming its fom top brand VW. Let us see how it performs on road.

So the huge boot space explains the cramped rear seat with less leg room! If the spare parts are reasonably priced then they surely have a winner in hand!

Thats nice piece of thought like exotics.

First time for hatches.

But dont you all think 66,000 for Spoilers & SKirts is going to do any justice ?

I feel that all acessories quoted are sky rocketing & better to stay away .

Hey guys! Does anyone know what the base petrol variant of the Polo will cost on-road in Mumbai? According to my calculations, it must be somewhere near Rs.5 lakh. Am I correct?
