This is ridiculous. Hope you’ve already tried rubbing compound and scratch removers if the scratches aren’t too deep.

Drive Safe,

Unfortunately, deep ones. Tried a bit, but left it since claiming can be a problem.

It really kills us when such morons do these such acts .
[sad]
Yeah, [frustration]

May 2020: Throttle body cleaning (Again)

2020-04-30 16-43-08.jpg

Continued from where we left > Throttle sticking and temporarily cleaned with Rust Off

Managed to source Magsol Throttle Plate & Intake Cleaner through @varunkumar2910 from the garage he manages. It was hard sourcing from elsewhere as traveling was restricted and Amazon and Flipkart were not delivering at that time. Costs ₹ 300.00.

The hose to be removed. Secured at both sides with hose clips. Throttle body side is hard to access with limited space.

Decently clean throttle body, cleaned 2 months back.

2020-05-01 09-11-42.jpg

Sprayed the cleaner.

Wiped clean. There was very minimal or negligible dirt.

Putting this back in that place was next to impossible in that space without any special tool.

2020-05-01 09-24-10.jpg

Installed the clip first.

2020-05-01 09-28-38.jpg

Applied a bit oil, very minimal, just a film, wiped off excess before install.

2020-05-01 09-28-43.jpg

Pushed it in. Voila.

2020-05-01 09-32-45.jpg

Gave a wash.

The car looks beautiful now. Have you done complete repainting? if so how much expenditure for the total body color?
Would you please advise me result of throttle body cleaning (both before and after). I have never done TB cleaning so for and would like to try for my Fiesta 1.6.

Didn't do anything. Was behind various guys for insurance claim, but due to lockdown and restrictions, things not going as expected and will take longer. In the meantime, saw a new paint correction guy doing clear coat level scratch clearance. Now triple lockdown declared and car stuck out of town. Once things eases, will consult him and if that works cheaper, will get that done instead of repainting.

Throttle body was cleaned because of stuck throttle valve. Now the throttle is free. Now crisp throttle response and proper idling.

Just wanna check how they can do without repainting. If nothing works, I would end up doing old school enamel and Colgate paste trick [lol]

Finally, got hold of spares. There are 2 dealers in town, Harry Ford and Kairali Ford. Former doesn't sell parts over counter, latter got spare counter, but was in containment zone. We used to see a shop off the main road displaying Ford OE parts, thought it was just bluff. Google also pointed to there and just tried, and they had almost all routine spares and could order parts as well. Focuz Auto Mart. Never found Ford OE parts in any other spare shops in town. These guys used to be old Tata dealer and still services Tata cars and cabbies and older customers still go there. Their service center is near Renault showroom in bypass.

Oil wrench size is bigger than Maruti, so gotta buy new wrench bit or a universal type.
