We shouldn't actually comment on the last row seats because Storme has jump seats and XUV a front facing so do why we comment on them? while in real world everybody knows its useless and manufacturers cant release a 5 seater(else people won't buy just for the sake its 5 seater)for e.g see the Koleos.

Actually we shortlisted STORME and XUV here so we no need to consider ARIA and INNOVA.

Well personally I feel Aria and Innova are very Long (lengthwise) cars , hence they can not be easily used for daily use.
Where as XUV or Storme can be used for daily use (comparatively easily).

7 seating capacity is required as there are many joint families which has 7/8 people.
And all 7 seats are required occasionally.

So in that sense which is better XUV or Storme ?

I know Innova,Aria third seats are best, but here the point related to XUV and storme.

Once I was at car decor shop, There was a gentleman who bought new scorpio top model.
I asked him why scorpio and not xuv (at same price of w6) - he said the third row seting is better in scorpio than xuv.

It's just selling for the SUV craze that's all. Rest of that XUV is the clear winner of all.

If you are pissed off by the lack of promotional activities by TATA, then think again. For the past 3 months, I've been receiving mails from TATA (atleast one in 2 weeks) promoting the Storme.
Recieved one today," Whats in your rear view mirror?" Some contest.

I don't have to answer that, Its a personal decision at the end of the day for an individual to plan for a car which he needs. we have many owners who did not opt for Storme and went for M&M too.

If XUV had not come into the market, i would any-day prefer the old Safari for its huge macho looks.

And the quality which you are taking about switches storme and xuv has similar quality infact I would say storme has a edge

you are correct , there is no hard and fast rule to declare any car a winner , but the thread is about telling us which you in your subjective opinion feel great and the reasons for it , so would have appreciated if you will give your subjective reasons on what grounds you feel xuv a winner which can help the readers .

This thread is not about making one vehicle as winner, but it is about the fine comparison of the both and a final verdict by a member based on his experience of both that's it. So there is no space of the words like winner or looser here and we were waiting for a detailed comparo between both as you have driven Storm.

Chill guys,I think both cars are winners as both have their own separate(distinct)DNA and appeal.



XUV advantages over Storme,as per me:


1. Better 3rd row(front facing).


2.Better safety kit(ESP,Roll-over mitigation and 6 a'irbags).


3. Nice looking modern dash.


4.More fun to drive car because of its lighter weight.


5. More fuel efficient.


6.Better handling(debatable)





Storme's advantages over XUV,as per me:



1.More spacious for the 5 passengers(1st two rows).



2. Better ride quality(read more comfortable highway cruiser).



3. More abuse friendly chassis construction.




4. Super planted on high speeds(debatable,based upon few reviews!!)




5.A real SUV,has separate Transfer Case with low ration 4x4 transmission and LSD(imp for off-roading,IMO).



6. A lower entry price point @9.95 lakhs in which you get important life saving features like ABS,EBD and 4 discs.


7.Better brakes than XUV(in feel).




So all in all both cars are good and have their own sets of +tives and -tives.Set your priorities right and buy what you like more.


Note: I haven't driven both of 'em,my assessment is solely based upon IR's and other's reviews and of course comparos.

Answered to Raja's post at the end of the day its you who's going to decide and not anyone.

That's the reason for XUV's success
