@decool

Nice trip experience and reassuring the confidence of driving the beast[clap]. It was similar to our trip(viky, rajiv and me) in Rajiv's white Storme recently to Miryalguda(A town in AP). Yes Storme rocks and VFM it is.

Love the beast, checked the braking, it is superb indeed.
Actually I felt a bit strange writing about the brakes and steering as part of the road trip experience - suspensions are there to absorb shock and brakes are supposed to bring the vehicle to a safe stop when necessary.

Anyway, I have read all sorts of issues reported with respect to braking and rolling of DICOR - the improvements in storm seem to be not just addressing those but taking them to a new level. That is why I thought it was ok to mention it in the road trip update.

On a different note, an elderly gentleman wan enquiring about my STORME today and according to him the build looked more German than Indian. He appeared pretty impressed with the stance and it is hard to explain why I was so happy with that remark. [:D]

I never kept waiting for a vehicle to leave me the way, in fact they gave me sides and overtaking is easier than any sedan as every one will give the way u want.

My TD in city was mindblowing, never drove a vehicle like storm in city, was Squeezing storme in evry small space available on road.

Storme is indeed a level above the Safari Dicor. How difficult/easy it is to be managed within the city traffic?
There are two aspect to city driving - first one, how easy it is to handle the ride. Storme, though not as easy as a sedan like Honda City, handles pretty well for its size and weight.

Second one and the more important aspect (in my view), is how general public perceive your presence in the road. I think Shail has addressed this in the previous post and I can't agree more on that. You are on the fast lane with priority pass for the most part. [;)]

What i meant to say was, in my TDs, i drove 7 times in 4 different stormes, but it is indeed very easy to drive when compared to my GT TSI and manza, other friedly commuters give the way u want.

This can be properly said by the owners who own storme and drive everyday in traffic.

In case of bangalore traffic, everyone wants to pass the signal without thinking with common sense. With regards to this context i prefered dense traffic situations and was superb to drive the storme with king's view and the apperance. Did not get stuck anywhere.

@shail, very true. Banglore traffic is legendary. Were else do you find a city bus take a right turn from extreme left lane when signal goes green. And where else do you see the rest follow the rule breaking bus studiously to do the same. End of the day, they all sit in a pub and blame the bus driver.

1 yr, 20000 kms update

Hard to believe its already a year since STORME (H) joined the stable. I am still enjoying every ride on H. When I think about it, this is probably due to the road respect – riding a sedan was really tired and sick of being treated like a second class citizen by most other users on the road. Ever since I changed my ride to a pearl white Storme, most road users seem to treat me as their equal if not above. That is the part am loving the most. [:D]

Apart from that, H accelerates, steers and brakes as expected – nothing major to write about. Windows roll up and down, audio works well, same with bluetooth and mike. Service from SCHAKRALAYA Motors is as good as ever.

Summary of niggles in the past one year,
1. Rattling from rear door – small issue - fixed same day – Charges: Nil
2. Left steering ball joint bolt crack – big issue – fixed same day- Charges: Nil
3. Rear A/C tube bolt crack – medium issue – fixed in 4 days – Charges: Nil
4. Air coming thru front LH window – medium issue – fixed same day (after part arrived) – Charges: NIL

It took around 4 days for getting the a/c tube and had to leave H at the workshop. Except for those 4 days was able to use him all the other time. There is one issue that is yet to be fixed - creaking noise from rear LH door that started few days replacing door beading to fix issue 4. Will get it fixed the next time I visit the workshop.

First gear is still somewhat sticky – even though TASS is willing to replace under warranty am not too keen right now for two reasons. Firstly, am not too inconvenienced due to this and secondly, this is major work and it is possible things may get worse after the replacement. (This is what happened on my Honda City when 5th gear selector was changed at 75000 kms. The gear shift was never the same again). Perhaps, if the situation worsens I will consider.

As part of 3rd service there was a bill amount for Rs.5300 towards consumables such as oil, filters, etc. That is the only money have spent till date towards maintenance.

Renewed insurance with Bharti AXA and it cost be around Rs.32,0000 for zero depreciation, comprehensive cover. Didn’t think insurance would cost so much even in the second year. There was a cheaper quote from Bajaj Alliance but didn’t take it as the reviews were bad.

Below are some more pics (still not bored with taking pictures) of my ride.
