Tata Safari Storme Comes Home: Dream Fulfilled!!!

I have notice a problem tell me if this if you ever notice , while diving and shifting gear from 3rd to 4th OR 4th to 5th , when i leave accelerator paddle and hit clutch , engine RPM doesn't come down immediately , it gives Roaring Sound for a a sec before rpm comes down.

Which i do not notice in my dsl i20.

Not sure if this is a problem but yes i am noticing the same in my Storme, initially i thought that i did not remove my foot from the accelerator but later i noticed that even if i remove my foot i the rpm does not come down immediately.

Also i was driving back from Kanpur to Delhi and after a drive of around 4 hrs i notices that water fell on my foot while driving, the AC was constantly on during this time, is this a defect?

@mukul :its common with all di engines vista manza fiesta and even old safari donno about the storme if the rpm remains constant for long time when you have clutched then its a problem with fuel injection motor

it was just couple of drops while i was travelling, recently my brother went to Rishikesh and while coming back to Delhi he also faced similar situation..couple of drops fell on his foot.

The mats are for front and middle seats only. These mats does not come for the last row.

Update after 9.5 K Kms:
TASS had fixed the issues that i mentioned earlier (engine noise & steering touching lower part), so to test whether everything is fine i went on a trip to Khatu Shyam & Salasar balaji temple and covered around 800 Kms last weekend. And i am really happy that there are no issues in my Storme, the beast behaved really well. There were some bad patches of road as well but when you drive Storme then no need to worry for bad roads . On the way while i was going i spotted 6 Stormes (5 White & 1 UB) and luckily all stopped at the same restaurant (Hotel Highway King, near Shahpur on NH8 towards Jaipur). I tried to check if anyone has added some accessories that i missed but it was my Storme who had most accessories, couple of the owners were impressed with my Alloys/tyres/Seat covers and mats and asked the price. I asked if they are facing any issues with their respective Stormes and both of them said no issues at all and not even the signature touch issue of TATA i.e. Door noise. I really enjoyed my drive but while coming back to Delhi there was hell lot of traffic jam and was only able to drive between 70-80 KMPH for a very long distance.
Overall I am happy with my Storme.

Hi there mukesh, the water droplets falling on left foot is due to the fact that AC condensation pipe is just above the clutch pedal.

Solution to this is they will tie a spongy material to the pipe running, so that those drops are absorbed by the sponge.

The outlet of the condensation just runs through this, that is when droplets fall on left leg.

This happens usually when AC is used for long hours in rains.

No where from outside water can enter inside.

@dharmesh, even i was not sure if TASS has fixed all the issues and more importantly no new issue had been arisen. that's why i did not signed the satisfaction form and took my Storme to a long drive of 800 kms but luckily TASS fixed the issues and no new surprise came. I have covered 9.5 K Kms with my Storme. I am dying to take my Storme to Leh and trying to convince my wife and parents but right at this moment they are not allowing me to go on such routes, my father has clearly said if you want to go to Leh then go with your wife and not with friends but my daughter is just 2.5 yrs old and don't want to take her to such climate. Seems i will have to wait for some more time to go on driver's paradise.

Hi mukeshus, thanks for the information. In my recent trip i did not faced this issue, AC was on during entire drive but i want to understand one thing: is this a serious issue that needs to be corrected as soon as possible? Is there any other car/SUV which has this issue?

Hi Mukesh, its not an issue it is the way the pipe is designed.

This was also faced in my Scorpio, but after tying the pipe with sponge, water drops no longer falls on the left leg.

That's the only solution dealer came up with, and its not visible.
