Hello Folks,

I have Tata Safari 2021 XMS model for 2+ years now. Since the last few months, I have been facing a peculiar issue of the car jerking in 1st gear. This happens after 15-20 km of driving and not immediately. So in the morning when I start to go to the office, for the first 10-15 km it works fine, but once I hit the traffic, with continuous clutch movements, the car starts jerking in 1st gear. The same thing happens in the evening: the first 10-15 km are fine, and then the jerking issues. I am scared to discuss this with TMSC, as I am sure they will also be clueless and could birth to some other issue. Hence I only get service done by them and nothing else; that is just to ensure that the warranty doesn't get voided.

I am sure somebody in here having safari MT might have faced the similar issue, was wondering if someone managed to solve it? If yes, how? Appreciate for some responses.

I have driven many cars over the years but never faced such problem in any of the cars so far. So, unable to give any comments from my experience.

In the meantime, I came across an article about the car jerking, which link is here and not sure whether it is of any use to you.

I feel this could be either because the slave cylinder is dying. I had a similar issue with my 2017 Hyundai Creta 1.6CRDi 6-speed MT, where the car jerked when releasing the clutch in 1st gear after I drove it for a while in bumper-to-bumper traffic.

As a precautionary test, I bled the clutch line once, but it did solve the issue, but for a few days, to reoccur, which is when I decided to change the slave cylinder. After which, everything was back to normal till I sold the car.
