DIY installing driver side floor lamination(made out of plain simple household yoga mat) for Nexon.
I was having issues with OEM rubber mats on the driver side. They moved around a lot. Dust spillage on the carpets was very much. They were at least 2 size small, resulting in insufficient coverage from spillage etc onto the carpet. There was some spare time this festival season.Went ahead and DIY installed floor mats for Nexon. This will avoid spillage on the carpet. It prevents the carpets from getting dirty.I have put the regular rubber mats over it.Now the rubber mats don't slip around. These protrusions hold the rubber mats in place, and dust management is far better now.
Had to cut furthur after installation, just to provide free play for the clutch.

Now these rubber mats dont slip around at all. They remain where they are put.

Images 1 to 7, I presume that's full floor mat (lamination) Is that one is the OEM or fixed in the showroom or aftermarket product?

Anyway, looks very neat and nice[clap]

Thank you for your compliments. It's neither OEM nor fixed in the showroom.I did it myself ,as a DIY.Took me about an hour.

Oh, that's great. By the way, what's that material - PVC textured mat?
sir, that is a plain simple household yoga mat, nothing fancy[:D]
Its cost effective too.I never went out to market for some fancy stuff.Had no intention and time for that.
I just wanted to keep it simple, thats all.

My Nexon completed 1 year this Diwali. This is one more reason to celebrate in diwali. Also completed 7000 kms. I am completely satisfied with its performance and with the car as a whole.
I drove 90% in the city traffic only with Nexon delivering an astounding average of 18 kms/litre of diesel,in the last 7000 kms overall . This has been calculated from the MID data just to satisfy my curiosity. I have no time and patience for tankful method, and frankly I never ever cared for it.For me car is for driving pleasure, not for average .Meaning to say ,I would still be happy if average was 12 km/ltr ,because I love the car,and only that's what matters to me.
I drove it mostly in city mode.So far I have No Complaints. It's a superb product from TATA. Lets see how it performs in the future.

Thank you for your wishes.Yes time does fly fast, especially if the car is not troubling you.Issues with the car,(eg.leaking engine oil from god knows where!!)increase you anxiety levels, stress you out ,as you are always busy solving issues one after another and you become tired and bored of the car earlier than a quiet niggle- less car. In this respect I can say ,so far I was lucky.Finger crossed for future.
Basically car is also just a Tool (Albeit a bigger and complex one) and nothing more in our day to day life, meant to assist us in what is expected of a tool.It should not trouble us or stress us but instead make our jobs easier.

In the meantime some more pics from today's photoshoot..

I disagree on this point doc.
Car is not a tool.
Atleast for me, My Beasts have a small compartment in my heart for themselves.
But yes, Most of the people (99.9%) Treat it as a Machine to Take one from Point A to B.
The rest 0.1% roam around on TAI[glasses]

P.s- Noted all the replies are from V10!s[evil]
When are you adding 2 cylinders doc?

I never meant it in a cold hearted way.I love all my tools, and most of them will outlast me,and will be passed on to my son.I dont care less for them, and I don't care any less for my car too,but cars will be sold off some day,and new ones will come and take their place, while my other less complex tools will still remain with me and keep on serving me ,for, maybe all my life.So you see, it's not necessarily a bad thing to call car a tool, which actually it is .You too can't keep any car with you for all your life.
It's the love we have for them while they are with us,which matters. That's why we all are on this forum.

Maybe my tool-line made it sound cold hearted and all. That's not what I meant.I love my cars and I love all my tools. That's why I am sharing all of them with you guys on another thread. It's just that cars will go away one day and tools will still remain with me,despite all the love and all for the cars ,think about it.We must not get stressed out too much for cars which are functioning as tools in our life.
This is what I said i my earlier post..
