- Tata Motors will initially setup ten exclusive electric vehicle dealerships in top-ten Tier-2 cities in the next six to twelve months.
- First dedicated showroom will be introduced in National Capital Region. It’s said to be large, plush-looking and better than Maruti Suzuki’s Nexa outlets.
- The dealer principles have already been shortlisted and will commence the construction once the layout specifications are finalized by Tata Motors.
- The average cost of setting-up a 6,000 - 7,000 square feet showroom in a satellite city ranges anywhere around ₹1-crore as per dealer estimates.
- Starting this April, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicle outlets will be billing the electric vehicles to a separate entity called Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, which recently acquired Ford's Sanand Plant.
- The dealers will also be required to have separate inventory funding for both the business. The company aims to double its Electric Passenger Vehicle sales to 1,10,000 in fiscal FY24. (Source: Link)
