Sorry dear for hijacking your thread.
As long as it relates to Aria, its not hijacked. What say justin?
GI steel doesn't rust as long as the zinc coating is intact. So the car body will last longer. And a rusted piece of iron might look strong, but its like sand castle. So in the long run, cars with GI body will be safer.
I feel the same nozzlering as its not hijacking. Everybody has a right to prove me wrong or accept my points as it is. If we can confirm all the matters mentioned in my previous post, then it'll be very good to know more about the product for new buyers. Even we can discuss about the resale value, mileage, ASS, etc.

The car was not returned to me yesterday. I hope they will return by this afternoon. I'm not sure why they taking longer to install alloys, do alignments, full wash and fix some small issues.

I need roof rail to be installed. anyone has any ideas, how to fix it?

Shall I be honest with you ? The roof rails will spoil the elegant look of the aria .
It looks extremely classy now with roof rails it will get that wannabe look which actually it is not.sorry if I expressed my opinion .

I think if you can wait for few more months TATA are coming with automatic Aria with default roof rails.Once it's launched you can get the original version and can fit it from your service centre.

But don't ask me when TATA will launch Aria A/T.[:)]

^^^ They have now lot of original accessories as Roof rails, body cladding, bumber skirts, foot steps, spoiler, etc. The body cladding very nice.

But the accessories people dont know how to fix it. bcos its has some screws. They agreed to stick it using 3M stickers, but not screwed as tht might cause leaks.

Aria looks better, without roof rails !![:)]
I always want to keep my car very simpler as stack form. My father asked me to buy fortuner for its looks. But finally he is very happy that not we opt that fortuner after the incident i explained earlier post, moreover he is happy now with the quality, mileage and comfort . But he want to add at-least roof rails as in my marina and also asked me to add body kits.[frustration]. Finally he accept to avoid body kits.

I don't know but I will still prefer the aria without any kind of roof rails and claddings but again if you love the look with the roof rails more sure go ahead more then anything your view is very important here . But I would say wait and make the installation proper instead of 3m tapes . Maybe you can call tata motors and ask which a.s.s close by where you travel or live can do that for you with the necessary equipments ?

Galvanised steel is better quality steel with zinc coating to prevent it from rust.About rest of your questions well as of now I don't have definitive answers. But one thing is sure that since TATA have their own crash test facility all their cars are remarkably safe.TATA never have any problems selling their cars in Europe is a testimony of that.
The only advantage of using galvanized steel in cars is that it will be more corrosion resistant.

It has nothing to do with safety or crash test ratings.

We cannot claim that all TATA cars are safe just because it has an in-house crash test facility. If that is the case, why dont they proudly crash test all their cars with NCAP or ANCAP?

Secondly, regarding their cars being sold in Europe (and hence being safe), are you sure they are the same ones being sold in India? Just like the XUV, TATA too gives additional safety features in the cars being sold abroad. I clearly remember reading this somewhere. So will an Indian Indica get a good crash test rating? I dont think so.

If tata wants to sell the car in export market, they will get that such certificates. Otherwise its useless. Nano and Aria got certificates as they are trying to export. Its not meant that all the other cars are not tested. My indica and marina proved several times when met with accidents. All tata cars has side impact bars. I know that, just to add an side impact bar can't guarantee the safety, but it'll give more confident than competition. My marina was hit by a speedy tractor while my car was parked side of the road. My car got a big hit in the left fender area. But the tractor felt a big damage as the front bumber (a big iron rod) went L shaped. The police just accepted the rod bend caused by this accident as the tractor was brand new. All of them amazed by the strength of the indica/indigo structure. I'll try to get photos from insurance peoples.

I never said that other cars are not tested.

Being tough/robust and being safe is different brother. My older Scorpio has been hit by a JCB with minimal damages to my Scorpio. However it only has a 3 star rating in the ANCAP.

What you are talking about is the sheet metal strength which does not translate into safety.

I'm talking about the best among the competition level or its price range. I know that the mahindra vehicles are built stronger as tata. But it missing something what tata included in their vehicles. In car/sedan/hatch segment, just have a look at the metal strength of suzuki cars. Even you complained about the metal strength about your innova in some other post/forum. So my argument is just based on the competition level, not as mercedez/bmw/volvo level.

Sorry brother. I'm not technically strong as you to prove. But we can discuss, at-least i can learn something, if my mindset/logic is proved wrong. [clap]

True. I will agree that TATA hatchbacks are stronger than the other hatches. Whether it's safe or not, I cant say.
