Switch EiV 22 Electric Double Decker Bus Delivered To BEST

Switch Mobility has delivered the first batch of India’s first electric double-decker bus, Switch EiV22, to Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST), Mumbai.

• This first set of deliveries is part of the 200 electric double decker buses order for BEST.
• The electric double decker boasts of wide front and rear doors, two staircases and an emergency door complying with the latest safety standards.
• Seating is optimized for 65 passengers. Each seat has a lightweight cushion and the interiors are said to offer car-like comfort for passenger convenience.
• Powering Switch EiV 22 is a 231 kWh capacity, 2-string, liquid cooled, higher density NMC chemistry battery pack with dual gun charging system. It allows a range of upto 250 Kms for intra-city applications.
• Switch EiV 22 has a lightweight aluminium body with an advanced architecture and can ferry nearly twice the number of seated passengers (compared to single decker bus) with 18% increase in kerb weight.

Two new Switch EiV 22 Open-Roof Double Decker Electric Buses have now been delivered to Kerala State Road Transport Corporation and will ply between tourist spots in Thiruvananthapuram.
