I like the shadowfox blue too. Any chance VW will be providing that shade in Polo in the future?
My wife is a die hard fan of shadowfox shade on Vento, but i like the Terra beige color on Vento most since i am considering Vento diesel (or Skoda Yeti or Skoda Laura [evil]) as my next purchase in coming years that color will surely on top of my list.

Yes the Terra Beige is also a nice shade. Why a Vento after owning a Polo? Wouldn't it be too similar from the inside as well the outside. Surely the new gen Laura to be launched in mid 2013 would be an amazing choice. I know i am very optimistic.[:D]

Lot's depend on how much cash i manage to save, i don't know why but i like diesel Vento very much wish they launch diesel automatic in few years. Laura surely is a fantastic car with great interiors. Did you check new Polo diesel Highline?

Yes, it all depends on Vitamin M.[:D] I did see the new Polo Highline. They've added quite a new features in it. Loved the new smoked headlamps and the alloy wheel design too. They have again added the Anti-pinch feature to the power windows. Seems like a really nice touch. I am so tempted to swap mine with a new Polo Highline diesel. But I'm very sure Dad will shoot me the moment he hears anything about this.[;)]

After polo, I like Jetta a lot. Among laura and jetta and other cars in this range jetta has become my new favorite. I am planning for Jetta after polo, which I am hopeful will get by my retirement age!!!
How about the new Octavia? Its gonna be a good option.
Let me guess- after owning polo, have we developed a liking for European cars?

The new highline versions have everything in terms of features at least at par with the competition. But this is how things will develop for VW in India. Soon they will launch better engines like tsi and 1.6tdi, and we will be tempted to trade our current rides with them.

I also have same desire, i am also tempted to swap my Polo with Highline Tdi but like you said my family members will also shoot me especially my dad :)

I think now CL becomes more value for money and its got maximum addition of features compares to other two variant. I do not like the new alloy design and rear wiper though which is a personal choice. I wish they provide more airbags in top model.

Jetta is a fantastic car no doubt about that i like the tail light design of this car most. After driving Polo i do not feel like driving my i10 and wagonR anymore and you cant believe i start comparing every small details with the word go and on each occasion i drove them and found that Polo has been designed keeping every minute details in mind.

I wish market becomes more mature in coming years and we manage to get ourselves out of "kitna deti hain" trap.

Yes absolutely. :agree: Even i like the Jetta more than the current Laura, but the next gen Laura/Octavia is going to be a big head turner from what i've seen in the pics. Waiting for it to launch here in India.

Yes the better engines would surely make Polo class leading in almost every department. But VW will have to keep the prices of these variants in check. IMO Polo Tsi Highline and the diesel 1.6tdi should be priced about 40-50k more than the current 1.2Mpi & 1.2Tdi Highline variants. Wishful thinking.[:D]

Comfortline variant makes more sense than buying a Trendline now. But the most sensible buy would be the Highline only with all the safety features. Even i keep on complaining whenever I am driving my cousin's Swift. The feel good factor which driving a Polo gives is simply missing.

About the Kitna deti hai trap - Its going to stay for a long time here, coz everyday the fuel prices are being increased in our country. The time soon will come when buying a car won't be as difficult as it would be countering its monthly/yearly running costs. But then again i feel the 1.2Tsi and 1.6Tdi will have more than sufficient buyers of its own.

I am guessing that after better engines arrive in the market, the older 1.2 engines will gradually be discontinued bringing the price of new engine cars at par with the competition. Hopefully by that time, the level of localization will also increase resulting in low cost of production as compared to today.
Hypothetically, something like 'VW polo 1.6 tdi trendline' can kill the fates of may diesel hatches in country.

Both the tsi and tdi engines are said to be fuel efficient. In spite of heavy weight, the tsi on polo will deliver more than 17 kmpl which is at par with some lighter hatches that boast of such high FE all the time.

Re: Sporty Yet Elegant: My Candy White Volkswagen Polo TDI

Had gone for a small trip to Jammu & Kashmir. Although not in the Polo.[sad] Had taken the Verna this time. Came back yesterday and gave my Polo for a wash as it had lots of dust over it. Had left it in the open for like a week.

Got the car washed from inside as well outside. Tyres were polished and the alloy wheels too were polished up. Now they are shining like the day i got them. Only thing left is dry cleaning of the seats which i think i'll get them done on the coming weekend.

Took a few pics of my beauty after the New Year's eve party around 3AM last night.[embarass][:D]

Nice pics. Wish our Polo could be lowered by few inches [sad]. I have seen EU Polos being lowered by ridiculous amounts. But roads there permit such mods.

GM88: How do you switch on the foglamps in your TL? Did you get a separate switch fitted or did you change the headlight knob to the CL/HL one? If so, how much did it cost?

Happens with me too. Best is to keep the window grooves clean and avoid rolling windows up and down too often.
Hehe. I see this is a common problem with all Polo owners. It's unbelievable how much dust gets collected in there.

And congrats bbmurthy. Your red HL looks very very hawt [:)]

Re: Sporty Yet Elegant: My Candy White Volkswagen Polo TDI

Get a rubbing compound, it should the job very well. Even then if scratches do not disappear, touch up paint may be required.
I agree totally with Rightnow. Did you try with the rubbing compound GM88? The scratches look superficial in the pictures so it should go with the help of some rubbing compound.
One thing I realised is that the paint thickness in the Polo is not as good as in say Hyundai cars. My Getz and Polo both got scratched in the same place with the same depth (actually the scratch in my Getz is deeper). In the Polo, I can see bare metal whereas in my Getz, bare metal cannot be seen. I wish VW had given a couple more coats of paint on the car. [frustration]

Edit: Just saw the post below in that same page. [:)] Good that your beauty has almost lost all her scars \m/

Thanks Sanke1. Yes even i would have loved to get my Polo lowered down a bit or maybe add some side and front skirtings, but scared they'll be ripped apart within days as our Indian roads are just not meant to be for all this.

VipinLJ i got a seperate switch for the fog lamps. Have put it just below the steering on the left side space.I keep that switch On all the time. Haven't touched it for like months now. The connection is such that they automatically get switched on with the parking lights. Cost for the fog lamps was around 3500 bucks.

Thank you very much for the reply. Since you say you leave the switch on always, does the fog lamp remain on even when the parking lights are off or is it wired in such a way that fog lamps switch on only when the parking lights are switched on? Anyway, you car looks almost exactly like mine from outside barring the wheel caps and rear wiper/defogger [:D] Gotta admit that the Polo is actually a looker.

Edit: I remember seeing DRLs in the classified section in another popular car forum which looked exactly like the fog lamps but that had LEDs in the corners without the main fog lamp bulb. I was planning on getting that for my Polo CL but the refresh version spoilt my plans [:D]

Holy moley. The red Polo with those alloys that we get in TL/CL Jettas here looks so hawt. If only I could've got them on my car. *sigh*
