zer.ashx?n=http%3a%2f%2fcdni.autocarindia.com%2fExtraImages%2f20200127044850_Nissan-B-SUV-Teaser.jpg

Nissan India has announced its foray into the ever-growing compact SUV market in India. The company has unveiled a first teaser image of its future SUV at an event in New Delhi, today. This new compact SUV (codename: EM2) will come to India around September 2020. Considering its sub-four-metre status, the Nissan will rival the likes of the recently updated Tata Nexon, the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza petrol, Mahindra's XUV300, the Hyundai Venue and the Ford EcoSport.

The teaser image reveals the upcoming SUV's silhouette, confirming that it will have a crossover-like design similar to the Nissan Kicks, rather than a more upright look seen on the Vitara Brezza and the Hyundai Venue. The new SUV will feature a floating roof design and will also get contrast paint options, as seen in the teaser image. Design cues from the newest Nissan crossover, the second-gen Juke sold abroad, can be expected on the compact SUV for India

Nissan has been working on a sub-4 meter compact SUV for quite some time and they have also released couple of teaser images of the new vehicle. The upcoming SUV, which is likely to be called Magnite, will compete with vehicles such as the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300 and Ford EcoSport in the sub-4 meter segment. Nissan has now released another video with some of their international models in which the front profile of Magnite has also been teased.

The video teases Magnite compact SUV twice in the whole video. In the first instance, the Magnite is represented with the word in the video. In the second instance, the front of the car is vaguely seen among other cars. The Magnite is right next to the facifted Nissan Kicks e-Power in the video. From the video it seems like, the upcoming Magnite will have a wide grille with chrome inserts on both sides. There will be ‘L’ shaped LED DRLs and the headlights are also expected to have some LED elements in them.

It is very much clear that the Magnite is actually the Datsun Go Cross showcased earlier rebadged under Nissan now.

This could also imply the end of the road for the Datsun brand in India. Read details here.

@Knightrider , I too feel the same but we do also know that Nissan desperately needs a game changer for them to survive in India. With the competitors rolling out well rounded more contemporary models in SUV space, it can not just stick with a somewhat average seller like Kicks. Terrano though a capable vehicle of it's time lost out to the far better twin i.e Duster. People recall Duster more than Terrano even today. Among Micra & Pulse, Micra initially made sales but all was short-lived when it wasn't given due upgrades on time and Pulse too wasn't a flyer. So, for Nissan, it is a make or break situation with the Magnite. Nissan has to make Magnite worth of every buck and follow it up with good aftersales and prompt dealership experience. With the Magnite, I am keeping high hopes with Mr. Rakesh Srivastava. He is a very well informed person and a good decision maker. He can be a pivotal force for Nissan's success in India.

As far as Datsun goes, They are a budget brand of Nissan. If they actually intend to continue here then perhaps they should think and explore segments like C-Sedan, better featured & built hatchbacks in 3-5L bracket. They need to pick a leaf or two from Renault and plan something better just like Renault made a wonderful update with the KWID.

Nissan Magnite Subcompact SUV Concept Interior Revealed

nissan-magnite-interiors-2-768x543.jpg

Nissan India has revealed the interior on the Magnite Concept subcompact SUV that will arrive at the showrooms early next year. The concept images of the cabin look promising with a number of elements that stand out. The dashboard looks clutter-free with a 3D honeycomb structure finish, while the trapezoidal air vents do look different. The official images also reveal a dual-tone black and red theme across the cabin while also highlighting the space. The automaker said that the interior reflects the "lifestyle of the customer with its strong presence inside out." It needs to be seen how many of these premium bits will make it to the production-spec version of the Nissan Magnite.

Nissan Magnite Teased Ahead Of Official Debut This Week

The much-anticipated Nissan Magnite subcompact SUV is all set to be unveiled in India this week, on October 21, and ahead of its official debut, the carmaker has released a new teaser video announcing its arrival. The teaser gives us a speak-peak at the sub-4 metre SUV, which judging by the looks of it, will come with LED headlamps, and LED daytime running lights, a sculpted design, faux skid plates, along with bold alloys, roof rails, and two-tone exterior treatment. The fact that the company is showcasing the production-spec Nissan Magnite now indicates that the SUV might be launched this year itself, possibly around Diwali 2020.

Nissan Magnite Subcompact SUV Makes Global Debut In India

Magnite_1-1.jpg

Nissan's first ever subcompact SUV has landed on Indian shores. The Magnite subcompact SUV has made its global debut in India and it enters a segment which has seen positive growth even in these trying times. The last few months have seen 2 new cars being added to an already long list in the segment and the Nissan Magnite which has just been unveiled globally will be the third new model to be added to that list and yes India will be the first market to get the car. The Magnite is likely to be priced between ₹ 6.5 to ₹ 8.5 lakh (ex-showroom) for this top of the line turbo CVT variant but we'll get to know once the car launches after Diwali.

There's extensive use of LED lights at a lot of places. The sleek LED headlamps look nice, but even better are the LED indicators that angular in shape. You also get LED fog lamps and LED tail lamps which make the overall look rather appealing. Of course we need to see how many variants will get the LED treatment. On the rear the big split tail lamps somewhat remind you of the Renault Triber. The integrated spoiler silver skid plates I wrote about earlier catch your attention. This flare garnet red colour according to Nissan is first in segment as it gets 4 coats which show different shades from different angles.

The package still misses the waoo factor to draw customer to Nissan.Something that Kia has done so well both with Seltos and Sonet.
