Yes, even I checked Honda website but no mention about number of cylinders.

Eidt: Car Dekho says - Number of cylinder 4/Valves Per Cylinder 4
Yeah and specs in cardekho/carwale is of current model, not the upcoming 2020. Anyway, I hope it has 4 cylinder engine and if its true then my next car will be this one definitely (Not anytime soon though).

Looking forward to your updates.....

New-Gen (2020) Honda City To Launch In July After 4 Months Delay

2020-honda-City-india-2-1068x587.jpg

Honda Cars India was all set to reveal the new-gen City in the country on March 16, however, the ongoing public health crisis across the globe led the Indian arm of the Japanese carmaker to push the launch to an indefinite date. Now, Honda has officially revealed the car along with details of its features, powertrain and mileage figures.

While the reveal already took place, the launch would happen in July, which means that the C-segment sedan’s arrival in the Indian market would have been delayed for about 4 months when it got launched. However, we believe that the new-gen City is truly worth the wait, and that it will give tough competition to its rivals, including Hyundai Verna, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and Skoda Rapid.

New-Gen Honda City Production Begins In India; Launch In July

Honda Cars India has commenced series production of the soon-to-be-launched new-gen Honda City at its Greater Noida plant, in Uttar-Pradesh. While the car was supposed to be launched in April 2020, the coronavirus pandemic and the resultant lockdown forced the company to suspend operations and postpone the launch. The Honda plant has resumed manufacturing operations from mid-June in-line with government regulations, while the car itself is currently slated to be launched in India, in July 2020.

Commenting on the start of production, Rajesh Goel, Sr. Vice President & Director, Honda Cars India said, "We are delighted to begin the production of the all-new 5th generation Honda City which will be launched next month. The aspirational sedan comes with a rich legacy of over 22 years across four generations and has been synonymous with Honda brand in India. The excitement and anticipation around the 5th generation City in the pre-launch phase has been extremely encouraging despite the currently prevailing market challenges. The all-new City is an engineering marvel on all aspects of design, technology and features and will strongly appeal to our modern age customers."

The features offered in this segment are top class for the Honda City.

The pricing strategy plays an important part. If the pricing is similar to that of the Mahindra Scorpio top end and Mahindra Xuv 500 then both Honda city and Civic will suffer a lot.
