Hello again,
Thank you for your valuable comments.

Just saw in the news that Honda recalled few of its Brio models.
Is there a way to know that the cars made after the said date in the press release (assuming that the car I buy is made post Jan 2014) will be free from that Brake defect..

Also can some nice being please share a link to some discussion for driving learners and also for what to take care of while buying your first car..

Thanks in advance,
RS

Hi Everyone,

Its so nice to see so many people discussing and the size of this thread
growing :)

I have completed my 2nd year of owning a Honda Brio.
I was out of country most of the time (this year) so my car has hardly been used. Since it needs servicing after every 6months, I missed on those dates and so I called the local service center to service my car and give the details of their price/items/stuff and what else they ofter which would be included in the service.

I was told that I should get a normal service done which would cost 4k-5k+parts. The other option is I opt for 2Years AMC where in I pay 20k (It includes 3Regular service + 1 Semi Major Service including pick/drop facility)

Anyone in Mumbai has done a paid brio service and knows how much they charge and what all is covered in that service please share those details and how much they paid for the same (appox price)

So what should one go with? Does it makes sense to have a 2Year service which includes quite a lot of things for 2yrs. or just pay after services as and when a service happens.

Hi Superuser,

I have just done the 1st paid service (completed 1 year) for my Brio and the regular service cost me around 1600 without oil change. Add another 1400 approx. for oil change.

So yes, I would say a regular service will cost you around 3-4k and you will have to do 4 such services in 2 years which would cost you the same around 15-20K. My advice would be that if your running is high (more than 1000 kms / month) then it is advisable to go in for an AMC whereas if your running is low then an AMC would not be very beneficial. Anyways, this is just my opinion, lets hear from the experienced users in this forum too.

Also, free pick up and drop is offered as an incentive by most service centers, they even do the PUC for free :)

20k for two years package ?? , i think it is high , with 2 service schedule in a year , 6 months apart mostly requires oil change if car travels min 10k in 6 months , i hardly do 3k all i do is minimum service check which cost around 1200 ( Paid Service ) since i do not require oil change every 6 months .

Does it may effect the warranty terms & conditions? Because the service manual clearly says 10000 KMS or 6 months which ever is earlier for oil change.

Could you share how many kms has your brio run when you did your 1st service?

Yes I think you are right for a person having high running should go for the AMC for 2yrs or else just do normal servicing

Thanks for your reply [:)]

Its 4 services in 2 yrs from where you take the service and as discussed you either go (once in 6months) or else take AMC (which is for 2years and has 4services included + some extras given by that particular service center)
I think it mainly depends on your Brio's run

You can procure it from the same guy where you service your Brio

I agree with you but what if they say you need oil change (since I guess they say it has to be done after certain miles)
Does anyone know after how many miles does one need to change the oil?

And if they do change, How would you find if they have actually changed it or not?

I recently smashed 30k, i am still 250 kms short [glasses]
My total service bill has been 1300+1400+3055 which is roughly 6k. Add another 2k for 30k service (giving next week), 20k AMC pack is too costly.

Oil change schedule is 10k kms or 6 months. I cover 10k in almost 5 months, so i make it a point to change oil every service. You can chek oil level by removing the dip stick (orange color) and checking oil level

Cheers, Ramu

Honda Ass Service Advisors himself have told me not to change oil if i am not hitting 10k every 6 months , So No question of any effect on warranty terms & conditions .

I do only 3k every 6 months but darkkid85 covers 10k within 6 months and for him it is mandatory , But on my Brio they do check Oil level and Quality of it but then they advice .

@ Manish09 , How much you are doing every 6 months ?

I agree with darkkid85 , 20k serving is too expensive does it cover all spare Parts too ? Do you really travel more than 10k every 6 month ? Do Brio needs so many spare change every 6 month ?

Hi all,

I bought the Honda Brio 2 years back. I have not been getting very good FE figures from the start. But off late it has decreased even more. In normal traffic I get an FE of about 8-8.5 with AC on. I took it to the service center but they did not provide me any solution. Instead, the CRM said that FE depends on many conditions and rode me off even though I fought a lot with him.
Please suggest what should I do now?
