Ford is planning to retain the existing Fiesta when the new model launches in the second half of 2011, and the current generation Fiesta will be most likely re-named as Fiesta Classic, reports Autocar India. (Read More).

I am happy that Ford will continue selling the current Fiesta as Fiesta Classic. I was pretty worried about the discontinuation of 1.4TDCi engine which although lacks power but is very much fuel efficient.

This is good news! As Akash said the 1.4L engine is extremely fuel-efficient! I see many people discarding Fiesta saying it may get discontinued soon , hope Ford passes this news to all to boost the sales of Fiesta!

And one more good news is the price is above figo. And price would be less than i20 and punto this is what my dealer confirmed on price

That's really nice car. We enjoyed competition, and ford is now taking seriously about indian automotive market.

I was planning to replace my Alto with Fiesta Classic, looks like i need to rethink about my decision. With the new Verna and Fiesta coming in, the segment is surely going to be on fire.
