American car manufacturer Czinger has just revealed a four-seat Grand Tourer called the Hyper GT. The car was uncovered at the Monterey Car Week in California, alongside the new 21C V MAX, a 270mph version of the 21C.

The design of the Hyper GT is a major departure from that of the 21C, but then it fulfils a rather different brief to the track-honed hypercar. In contrast to the 21C’s inline seating arrangement, there’s a much more conventional layout in the cabin. Less conventional are the Hyper GT’s gullwing doors.

The huge domed roof, black pillar, smoothed door handles and digital wing mirrors all help further the eye-catching look of Czinger’s latest creation. Towards the rear there’s a central exhaust layout, mesh rear end and full-width light bar.

Like the 21C, the Hyper GT comes with a 1,233bhp 2.88-litre flat-plane crank V8 with a pair of turbochargers, an 800-volt electrical architecture and hybrid power. Performance details haven’t been revealed, but we expect a sub 3-second 0-62mph time and a top speed well over 200mph. We’re also not sure how the Hyper GT will manage the cooling of the front-mounted V8 with those rather small intakes.

Czinger hasn’t revealed how much the Hyper GT will cost but we expect a price tag of around $1million (roughly £845,000). We don’t know when the Hyper GT will go on sale, although it will be produced at Czinger’s plant in Los Angeles alongside the 21C.
