My friend had got Polo TDI Highline last week for ₹8.5L after discounts.I think it's a steal deal for the car, which is running well in market.Because, the price of new car before discounts itself is around ₹9.3-9.4L on road Hyd.

Inspite of heavy discounts I didn't find much difference in price for fiat cars from av motors minister road.

An opportunity to seize

Any member from Delhi NCR interested in purchasing Bolt can reach the newly opened dealership of Tata Motors in Gurgaon near sector 14.
The dealer is
Arya Motors
Opposite Sector 14, Mehrauli Gurgaon Road, Gurgaon
0124 4558000
9599004393

The dealer is located near Orion Hyundai and Torque Fiat for ease of spotting and it's a new dealership inaugurated hardly 2 weeks back and they are offering some mouth watering deal on Bolt.

Bolt XMS Revotron:
  • On road price: INR 6,08,861
  • Cash Discount: INR 21,000
  • Cash discount welcome bonus: INR 20,000
  • Free Zero dep Insurance: INR 20,655
Total discounts: INR 61,655 [clap]
Effective on road price: INR 5,47,206 [:D]

Bolt XT Revotron:
  • On road price: INR 6,73,285
  • Cash Discount: INR 30,000
  • Cash discount welcome bonus: INR 20,000
  • Free Zero dep Insurance: INR 22,708
Total discounts: INR 72,708 [clap]
Effective on road price: INR 6,00,577

Being a new dealer, they are giving this exclusive welcome bonus. The staff was really very good and so was the dealership experience. I would suggest the members from Delhi NCR to at least consider this dealer and Bolt for once if they are planning a purchase now.

for 5.4 lac only, one can get ABS + Airbags + Harman music system + Revotron. Add 13k more and you have gold AMC for three years which covers every single expense in maintenance, thin'g can't get sweeter for this money. Additionally, members can get handling charges also waived off which cost INR 7200 and njoy the true festive season celebration.

@Auto_Pilot:
Not only the news, even the vehicle also deserves a special mention for the way it rides and the way the steering responds, something you seldom find in Tata cars.
Although I never have many good words to say about Tata, but if one is looking for a well built, comfortable and spacious car for city driving with decent safety kit; I can't find a reason for not looking at Bolt. Buying a Bolt for 5.47 lac, one saves around 50-60k from a Swift. Add a gold AMC for 13k and for 5.6 lac you have a car for 45000 kilometers or three years AMC coverage.

What you get added to Swift in a Bolt:
  • Better low end and easier city drive
  • In fact for a sedate driver, the car is better overall because under 3500 it is very responsive in any gear and in real world driving, our cars hardly go beyond 3000.
  • More space
  • Awesome Harman music system
  • ABS and airbags with VSC and believe me, people say that VSC is not something special but I have myself experienced it work and it really helps under tight cornering or if lose surface is tackled mid corner.

What you get in a Swift VXi:
  • Auto folding mirrors [lol]
  • Better front seats
  • Better top end and better FE by 1-2 kpl

Mathematics time [evil]

For a running of 800 kilometers a month (my city running if I remove all my inter city trips) and taking overall FE of Bolt as 13.5 kpl and Swift as 15 kpl (75-25% city highway ratio with 100% A/C).

  • Fuel price: INR 61.06 per liter (As per New Delhi on Nov 16th)
  • Fuel consumption by Bolt in 800 kms and fuel cost: 59.25 liters or INR 3618 per month
  • Fuel consumption by Swift in 800 kms and fuel cost: 53.33 liters or INR 3256 per month

Saving in Swift: INR 362 per month

Maintenance for three years or 28,800 kilometers @ 800 kilometers per month:
  • Bolt: INR 13,000 for Gold AMC
  • Swift: Including one paid service, one can expect it to be around 9000 rupees excluding the replacements of any other parts than regular service. 2500 for brake shoes replacement at 20k kms though.

At the time of purchase, you paid 5.6 lac for Bolt and 5.8 for Swift VXi (In Gurgaon there is just INR 15000 cash discount on Swift, nothing else). Safety features, which we always keep on the top of the list are already being provided in the Bolt.

Now for the saving of INR 20k at the time of purchase, you are paying 13,032 more in three years or 28800 kilometers towards fuel and 1500 extra towards maintenance (only if nothing goes kaput in Swift). All in all the break away point doesn't come even at 28,800 kilometers or three years.

BUT the resale value of Bolt will be significantly lower than that of a Swift for sure.. hence the mathematics goes into dustbin considering the resale value

An incident:

Recently I was having a word with a relative of mine who was planning to purchase a car for herself. She liked everything in the car and even was happy with the TD experience too and then she bought a Grand i10 sportz.

I asked her the reason for rejecting the Bolt and she was out of reasons
Finally what reason came "I will not buy a Tata and this car will also come in Taxi after 2-3 months I know"!! [frustration]

Very well explained Sir,

Take my bow. You have considered every details in comparison and after reading it, I am sure many will choose Bolt over Swift with this offer. Mathematics part was just superb.

It is hard truth that Tata has lost its reputation. If they keep on providing us new vehicles like Bolt and Zest, it will change very soon. They have promised to launch 2 new models each year and as a buyer we have very exciting time ahead.

Best of Luck Tata.

Finally,Skoda came with holiday scheme offer 'Buy in 2015,Pay in 2017'.EMI for 5 years is around ₹18000 whereas loan amount is ₹7.5L and down payment for Rapid Elegance/Style is ₹5.12L whereas Ambition is ₹4.15L.I think its a good time to buy a Rapid. However,we were there thinking to buy the same under this scheme since Skoda had launched this scheme 2 years ago.Planned to buy the same car in 2014 under same scheme but due to my uncle passed away that time, had to postpone it.Again in 2015,the same offer has come finally and again thinking to buy the same car under the same scheme. What will happen this time I don't know but please wish me a good luck this time.I hope that we will buy this car under the same scheme.Considering our situation since last few years(4-5 years to be precise),this scheme seems to be good for people like us.The last two times when they introduced the same scheme,we almost decided to buy one but due to some circumstances, had to postpone it.

Bad scheme for sure..
Paying 10,80,000 for a loan amount of 7.5 lac means INR 3.3 lac as interest!! (18000 EMI for 5 years)

And if this is with a down payment of 5 lac then it's a foolish scheme.
