Mini has introduced a limited edition of its Countryman city SUV as the company aims to reverse last year's sales slide.
The Mini Cooper Countryman Stafford Edition – powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged three-cylinder (100kW/220Nm) – starts from $47,500 drive-away, while the perkier Mini Cooper S Countryman Stafford Edition – powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder (141kW/280Nm) – is priced from $54,900 drive-away.
Mini Australia says the Stafford Edition trim adds no price premium over the standard Countryman when on-road costs are added.
The Stafford Edition trim brings cosmetic styling inspired by John Cooper Works (JCW) – Mini’s performance division – to the Countryman, adding a JCW exterior styling kit, JCW 18-inch ‘Grip Spoke’ design alloy wheels, carbon black sports seats, a piano black interior and Anthracite headlining as standard for both variants.
Further to these, the Cooper S Countryman also gets a panoramic sunroof, climate package and sun protection glazing, and a Harmon Kardon 12 speaker sound system as standard.
The Countryman Stafford Editions are available in four colours, including Midnight Black, Light White, Chili Red and Island Blue.
