• Launch of Mercedes-Benz GLB (7-seater) comes alongside its most affordable 7-seater EV cousin: Mercedes-Benz EQB.
• Mercedes-Benz is providing a residual value guarantee of 64% for 3-years with average mileage of 10,000 - 20,000 Kms.
• Mercedes GLB has a length, wheelbase and height very similar to the GLC. It also offers a maximum boot capacity of 1680 liters.
• There are multiple fuel-type and drivetrain configurations: Petrol 4x2, Diesel 4x2 and Diesel 4x4 with Off-Road Engineering Package.
• The 1332 CC, 4-cylinder Petrol motor, mated to a 7-speed DCT, delivers 163 BHP and 250 Nm torque. It does 0-100 Kmph in 9.1 seconds and has top-speed of 207 Kmph.
• The 2.0L Diesel motor offers an optional 4Matic. It’s equipped with 8-speed DCT which returns 190 BHP and 400 Nm torque. It does 0-100 Kmph in 7.7 sec (7.6 for 4x4) and 220 Kmph top-speed (217 Kmph for 4x4).

This is one underrated car. I had the GLB35 AMG with me to review for a week. The ride on that was too stiff but other wise it was a great package. I also wished it got more of the GLC interiors as opposed to the GLA interiors (with those vents) but otherwise a very spacious 5 seater with a big boot (if you keep the third row folded).

Mercedes GLB discontinued in India

The Mercedes GLB SUV is no longer available for sale in India, the German brand has confirmed. Mercedes’ entry-level 7-seat SUV was brought in as a CBU from its plant in Mexico, and allocations for the Indian market have been completed, with every model brought to the country now sold.

Launched in December 2022, the GLB had been on sale in the country for a little over 2 years. While it wasn’t a particularly hot seller, the German company was bullish on its sales, and the SUV was the most affordable 7-seat luxury SUV available in the market at the time. Priced between Rs 63.80 lakh and 69.80 lakh at launch, the Mercedes GLB undercut the likes of the Land Rover Discovery Sport by a margin of Rs 1.6 to 7.6 lakh.
