Hi,

First of all congrats for the car and thanks for the nice detailed review. I have 2-3 question which I feel you can clarify:

1. I also went to Autopace yesterday and they outrightly declined any type of discount or any free accessories. I just asked them to give me foot matts and they said No on that.

2. How much you had to wait for the delivery ? They are telling me that waiting period is 9 months which I feel is very high... (i mean even a human is getting delivered earlier than that!)

3. How much the service costed ? I think first service is done in your case ?

Hoping to hear form you soon.

Thanks.

Hello Hodlur.
I didn't tested this thing, neither I noticed it. But I'll surely test this thing 2mrw.
Btw, did you make it out how the AVC functions? I don't hear any diff. in the volume even on level 2/3? [confused]

@Ertiga-ZMR- Good decision! [:)]
I hope you'll get it soon.
Thas ok. Even I didn't see any difference with AVC function. The sound remains same at all levels. Between I have changed the stock speakers with JBL speakers for 7.5k with exchanging old one. Components 260w at front and 260w coaxial at rear. Now the bass is really good.

Hi All,
I am in a bit of a dilema regarding my ERTIGA. As I had mentioned in my earlier post on this thread I had booked Serene Blue ZXI on 12th April and there is no signs of it being delivered. My dealer seems clueless on how much longer it will take and apart from saying that I will be updated shortly, for the last one month I have not had any other feedabck. Got a call yesterday from the dealer informing that if I am ok they will be able to deliver me a white VDI in a weeks time. Now here Iam trying to get some help in taking the decision. I am ok with the Colour ( white always easy to maintian also wifey likes it) More than the Petrol Vs. Diesel dilema (I had mentioned my reason to go with petrol in my previous post). Its the absence of alloys, airbags and the not so good ICE in the V variant that is the cause for the dilemma. The absence of other couple of additional feature like rear wiper, steering mounted controls and driver seat adjustment ( its a tall boy so why adjust height) in the V variant is ok by me. Its the airbags, alloys and ICE dilemma. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks

If I were at your place, I could have gone with VDI at least it will easy on you monthly bill. As Vishalshree explained that some of the additional features can be incorporated at a descent price. Go for it, but first listen to your heart and mind. You should not regret at later stage. The main important feature is ABS which is there in VDI so no harm in giving it as alternate choice for VDI.

Per Km cost would be around

VDI = 50/17 = 2.94[clap]
ZXI = 82/13 = 6.30[cry]

P.S - I am not pretty sure about Diesel price in bangalore, just considered an approx fig, even for the mileage .

Thanks ERTIGA_ZMR. considering my usage it will take a long time for me to break even taking into account the differential additional cost for VDI. More than the alloys and ICE which I can get from after market, no airbags is a concern.

Hi All,

I was going through all threads ahead, and found most of them depicts about diesel models (VDI and ZDI). They really looks inpressive with above owner reviews.
Congrats all the owners and thanks for all for the inputs !!

I am looking for a petrol model, probably VXI. I looked at the car the day it launched, but could get it for a drive. Is anyone here with a petrol one? Hows is the performance of new K series engine and how is the true" mileage?

-Thanks.
Hey!
Performance of 1.4 K series engine is reported to be very good, better than of Swift's 1.2 K series. It is very powerful engine and it is reportedly giving around 9-10 in city with a/c and 13-14 on highways.

Hello!
No one can expect any kind of free accessory with Maruti's Diesel cars IMO.
Yes, Not Even Floor Mats.
They even declined me for the same in spite being the first Ertiga owner in the city.
Yes, >8 months of waiting period was attained after the 1st month of launch only. But you can get Petrol models or VDi before the ZDi.
If you'll say that this is not right, I want my car faster. They'll simply reply either to wait or you can buy any other brand's car as they already have many customers waiting before and after you, so it doesn't make them any diff. at all. Yes, its "Sad but True". [:(]
1st service costed me 430 for the diesel additive and something around 1.5K for underbody coating(optional).

Your car looks very nice!! [:)]
Did you see what is the power output of the company fitted speakers and of which company they are?

Hi there!
I'll list all features that are not present in VDi-
1-Airbags
2-Alloys
3-Rear Wiper
4-Rear defogger
5-Height adjustable seat belts
6-Outside temp. display
7-Steering mounted controls
8-Pretensioner & Force limiter seatbelts(Driver+Co-passenger)
9-Enhanced Stereo
10-2 Tweeters
11-Height adjustable driver seat.

If I were you, I would have waited some more time for the Z variant and these all things all WORTH of it! You just can't simply ignore the Airbags(A Must for our safety,ABS is not enough IMO) ,Rear Wiper+Defogger(A Must in big cars), Steering Mounted Controls(Ask them who have this thing, they simply can't live without this and you'll also come to know what I mean if you get this, Its not just for our convenience but is a great safety too!), Alloys(We are buying an expensive car, don't we need some "Tashan" with the car? [:D] ) , Height adjustable driver seat(Is this for short people only? I am 6"1 and I always have to push the seat down. :P), Sound System( Way better performer and in terms of looks too than of VDi) and last but not the least The "ZDI" batch says the all!

If you drive more than 800kms in a month ,then go for the Diesel else Petrol is still for you!

I hope it helped.

Thanks Saby,Now I have two different views from you and ZMR. Not making it any easy for me. My dilema is because of the factors pointed out by you. But I am ok with not having most of them except the airbags and I like the Tashan bit and do agree with you on that. My usage is definitely less than 800 kms in a month and that was another reason why I was willing to stick to the ZXI even after the recent hike in the prices of P.

I had initially asked my dealer to book vxi and zxi by paying 10k each. I had told him that I would make the payment for the car only once I drive each of the both. I did drive the ZXI and my god with the front ac the pull went down and with the second A/c the pull went further down. And then in the humps the vehicle just gave lousy pull and drag.. So I went for the diesel.. In all the reviews the reviewer just would drive in a high way with no humps and speebreakers but in reality as petrol engines have a spark plug this happens. So I would recemmond the DIESEL engine for the ertiga..

hi,
With reference to the thread on features not listed in VDI, the height adjuster for the seat belt is available.
The other thing is the stock speakers fitted in the vehicle have very small magnets, this would affect the sound quality and bass.

I did around 500Km of highway driving last weekend. On the first leg I was alone in the car and got an avg of 20.5. On the return there were 4 adults, 2 kids and luggage - got 17.5kmpl. Drove at around 100 Kmph with AC on.
While driving at 80 kmph in 5th gear, the average shoots up. Above 100 it starts falling.
The car is very stable on the highway. I regularly did 120 while overtaking and car did not feel underpowered.
In the ghat section though I needed consantly down shift, and at times had to go to 1st to keep the rpm up.
The AVC seemed to be working as I did not need to increase the volume at higher speeds.

Hi Sunny,
The Maruti Seat Covers are now available in show rooms, Rajkot being hot and sweaty, you should plan for either a fabric seat cover or some material that make you sweat more. I got mine stiched from Turkey Towelling material, however, since I couldn't get the colour I wanted, I am planning to change once I get a matching colour.
