Hello All,
I am a new joinee to the forum, though I am following all your posts for the past 4+ months. Needless to say, all your input helped me to buy my Ertiga silky silver ZDI (without alloy) a week back. I would like to thank all of you for giving valuable inputs to decide on my new vehicle (I exchanged my Swift VXI for Ertiga). The PDI checklist of TAI was very useful, the sales guy was so happy when my son gave the gift to him when we took the delivery.
I am looking to change the head unit, I saw various discussions by Starpp, Long Miles, Srinivas and singin16. Looks like the vizak dealer is not active, and the pioneer 2 DIN will become 30K+ if we want to enable to steering mounted controls. I found the following link, can Strapp / Long Miles / Srinivas confirm if this unit look similar to yours? Also I want to know the reliability of this site, has anyone bought the headunit from this site before? Appreciate your inputs.

Guys, i am trying to decode VIN. my dealer says he has cars in stock from march- april make. This is july now. Does it mean he is pushing old stock or it is natural ? Ertiga is/was a hit model with a lot of waiting period isnt it
Mar-Apr may definitely mean unsold stock..but given the today's scenario of sluggish sales, it is expected. What this Salesperson told me is that most dealers order first, then try to sell it. If you dont have any concerns & vehicle is in good condition, may be u can squeeze the dealer a bit on this aspect.

I ordered my HU from the Vizag Guy. I guess mine is the latest edition of HU exclusively made for Ertiga/Swift. Still i am having issues with the HU. The steering control does not work & If i switch on the Engine with a USB(Pen Drive) connected to the HU, the HU switching off automatically. The Vizag Guy could not help me out regarding this. It requires expert technician for proper fitment of this HU. So i would suggest You to get it installed(if Possible) from the supplier/vendor itself rather than ordering online. In my case it was not available with local vendors so i had to go for online(ordered from the vizag Guy over phone). other members of this forum have installed Pioneer/JVC HU to Ertiga. The only difference is that they do not come with the frame required to fit with the Ertiga Dash Board.But Now a days the frame is available in the market.
Also MMI is also offering HU for Ertiga but with a higher Price Tag like 39,000/-.

Signin16 - Thanks for your quick reply, and yes, your answer will help me in finalizing the unit. The pioneer set is available in my place, the high end - 8" screen with two year warranty is 26K + 4K to enable the steering wheel controls (universal remote set-up?). This unit doesn't come with GPS, but I think I can manage with the GPS in my android phone if required. The other question I have is about the roof mounted LED display which can be integrated with the HU. Any suggestion?

Any additional screen can be connected/integrated provided the HU has provision for video out slot. In my case the HU has the provision for video out and comes with cable required to connect additional screens.

It is expected that the car prices will be hiked very soon due to dollar fluctuation.
Expect a 1-2% hike, especially for top end variants for which they need to import stuff, which would amount to a 10K increase at least.
Suggest you go in for the kill ASAP. Remember, the price will as applicable on the invoicing date.

I have'nt done the lamination on the Floor Carpet as i was not convinced on its durability. However during the rainy season with wet foots coming in the floor carpet get dirty as the floor mats do not cover the entire floor.
Is there any way to clean the floor carpet and remove the stains? Can the Floor carpet be removed , cleaned and fixed back ?

If not vinyl mat then you can buy a 3D mat, it's kind of tray bit expensive but worth to buy.
Thanks Signin16. After some research, I found the following Indonesian link, looks like this is what being offered as OEM in Indonesia. Lot of videos and tutorials are available for this model for the installation. Unfortunately this unit is not available in India. For folks who can buy it from Indonesia, this is seems to be a good option.
