Lexus was the only high-end luxury car brand present at the Auto Expo 2023. It stood well-upto the expectations of the visitors with a range of concept and production models. The 5th-generation Lexus RX was one of them. The RX is a popular volume-seller for Lexus India and the company is all-set to introduce its new model to the Indian market in two variants: Lexus RX 350h Luxury and Lexus RX 500h F-Sport Performance.

• Lexus has already commenced the bookings for both the models and deliveries are scheduled to commence from March 2023 onward in India.
• Globally, the 5th-gen Lexus RX was unveiled on 31 May 2022. It’s built on the GA-K platform and comes in four variants: RX 350, RX 350h, RX 450h+ and RX 500h F-Sport Performance.
• However, unlike the fourth-generation model, Lexus RX fifth-generation comes only with a five-seat version. No seven-passenger seating with the third row is available at present.
• New Lexus RX offers 60 mm more wheelbase (2850 mm) along with a 25 mm wider body (1920 mm). Front track is increased by 20 mm and the rear track is increased by 65 mm as well.
• There are noticeable design revisions on the fascia, side and rear profiles. Front “Spindle Grille” is redesigned for a 3D look, a design element which Lexus calls the “Spindle Body”.
• Front fenders are made of aluminium, while B-Pillars are made of 2 GPa class hot-stamped steel, which is claimed to be the world’s first in terms of safety as well as weight reduction.
• Lexus RX 350h Hybrid has 2.5L, 4-cylinder engine with a CVT under the hood. It produces 247 BHP and 242 Nm torque. The 0-100 Kmph acceleration is under 7.9 seconds.
• Lexus RX 500h F-Sport Performance Hybrid, on the other hand, delivers 366 BHP and 460 Nm torque from its 2.4L turbo-petrol engine mated to a 6-speed AT. It does 0-100 Kmph in 6.2 seconds.
