To bridge the gap between the existing HTX+ and GTX+ trims, Kia has introduced new GTX trims for the Sonet as well as the Seltos. This new variant, offered with both models, will only be available with automatic transmissions. Both of the popular SUVs get a number of feature upgrades with this newly introduced trim.
Kia Sonet GTX
Starting off with the Kia Sonet GTX trim, this variant has been priced at Rs 13.71 lakh (ex-showroom). On the outside, it boasts the same design, but it now gets a total of seven color options. These include Pewter Olive, Glacier White Pearl, and Imperial Blue.
Other options are Intense Red, Aurora Black Pearl, Sparkling Silver, and Gravity Grey. On the inside, the Sonet GTX trim gets features such as ventilated front seats, a powered driver seat with 4-way adjustability, automatic headlights, LED fog lamps, and a built-in air purifier.
Additionally, the Sonet GTX boasts a 10.25-inch fully digital infotainment system which supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It also comes equipped with a 10.25-inch digital instrument gauge cluster as well.
As for the safety equipment, the sub-compact SUV gets six airbags, a 360-degree camera, blindspot monitoring, and front and rear parking sensors.
Kia has not changed anything under the bonnet of this newly introduced trim. It still gets the same 120 PS generating 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT).
It also gets a 115 PS producing 1.5-litre diesel engine. This engine will come mated to a 6-speed torque converter automatic. As mentioned, this new GTX variant does not come with a manual transmission.
Kia Seltos
Coming to the Sonet’s elder sibling, the Kia Seltos GTX trim, this variant has been priced at Rs 19 lakh (ex-showroom). It sits between the HTX+ and GTX+(S) trims. This particular variant’s feature list includes Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) with 19 driver assistance features.
These features include adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and automatic emergency braking. The Seltos GTX trim also gets 18-inch alloy wheels, which is an upgrade from the 17-inch wheels found on the HTX+ trim. On the outside, this variant also gets LED headlights, DRLs, connected LED tail lights, and LED fog lamps.
Moving on to the interior, the Seltos GTX gets an all-black interior accented with white inserts in black leatherette seats. The front seats also get ventilation, and it also gets a dual-zone climate control system. Other notable features include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system paired with a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display.
As for the powertrains, the Seltos GTX is available with two engine options. The first is a 160 PS generating 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine. This motor gets a 7-speed DCT.
Meanwhile, the other engine option for the GTX trim is the 115 PS 1.5-litre diesel engine. This engine gets a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
New colors for Sonet and Seltos X-Line variants
Both the Sonet and Seltos X-Line variants have also been given a new color option of Aurora Black Pearl. Previously, the X-Line variants of both models were limited to Matte Graphite shade, which was exclusive for this trim.
