Kawasaki Motors has expanded its portfolio for the Indian market with the launch of the Z900RS. Just like the Z650RS, the Z950RS is also based on the naked Z900. Prices for the newly launched retro-classic motorcycle from Kawasaki in India start from Rs 16.47 lakh.

The 2023 Kawasaki Z900RS boasts of the same iconic retro design and in the process pays homage to Kawasaki models of yesteryears. Old-school designs in the form of round headlamps, a sleek tail covered with ribbed pattern seat, and a teardrop-shaped fuel tank. The iconic visual presence of the Z950RS is more than just appealing. Kawasaki is offering the Z900RS in two colour options - Metallic Diablo Black/Metallic Imperial Red and Candy Tone Blue.

The Z900RS gets a basic feature list that includes, Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC), an assist and slipper clutch, and all-LED lighting. The instrument cluster is old-school in the form of two analog dials with a negative LED at the centre. It helps preserve the retro appeal of the motorcycle.

It is powered by the same 948cc, inline-4 cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that also does duties in the Z900. This mill produces 107 bhp at 8500rpm and 95Nm of peak torque at 6500rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels on both ends. Suspension duties are handled by 41mm USD upfront, and a mono-shock for the rear. Braking duties are taken care of by 300mm dual discs at the front, and a 250mm single-disc at the rear.
