Friends,
According to a 112 Page Report by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (Govt. Of India) it has been found that in the year 2015, there were a total of 5,01,423 road accidents in India which is 2.5% higher than the 2014 stats that stand at 4,89,400. Also the number of on-road deaths in 2015 have increased by 4.6% in comparison to 2014 and in 2015 the figure stood at 1,46,133. Though we have a separate thread for Accidents in India but these stats in my humble opinion needs a separate thread as it is dealing with the precise statistics. The top 3 states in terms of Accidents in 2015 were Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh and the Top 3 states in "Most of number of people killed" in road accidents in 2015 were U.P. , Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra.
It is really a sad state of affairs in terms of Indian traffic sensibilities. The cause of on-road death or accident could be anything but the most unfortunate part being the loss of life and life long void in the lives of family members.
