Was driving today and i see some improvement atleast its moved ahead from the 8.7 kmpl value. Also have noticed something being on higher gear as in instead of 2 be on 3rd gear and instead of 3 be on4th gear it seems to make a .5 kmpl increase!

Buddy sorry to say but I fail to understand how do you calculate the FE? I mean what is that 10ltr thing and distance to cover. It changes with our driving style.
Also if you want the actual FE then just go by tank full to tank full method.

BTW how much fuel is left after the low fuel indicator blinks?

gears there is 2 litres left when it blinks.

btw my building neighbor who has an accent casually asked hyundai service folks about the best fuel and they recommended him indian oil regular, he asked them for any additive use and they said do not use, but later they were pushing 3m additives and de-carb on him. I questioned him on fe he said hyundais are meant to be driven, take the fe they claim with a truck load of salt.

what i kind of find annoying is hyundai gave a 43l tank for us no matter how dry the tank is 43l will only go in. where as in other cars theres 45l you fill more and can manage 48/50l

btw i really would like to know how does the ecu measure fe? by the duration of injector open? or does it measure level of fuel dropped in tank per km traveled?

Nope gears there is no change in driving style, its just that these engines aren't FE friendly.

bazooka you were to get a satisfactory fe earlier right? did it drop with the onset of summers? Give this tank a try if it doesn't go back up visit hyundai and see what they have to say.

I was around the 9.4 and 10 Kmpl range which i was more than happy with, this has gone down offlate. Infact its the same bunks where i fill in no change. Will use the speed for a fill or 2 then would know whts the deal like.

by the way your tires set at 32psi? you could fiddle with the pressure a bit and see if it changes the fe. Btw the out of town drive you went on was it a highway drive or did it have traffic?
