Hyundai Motor India has launched a new EX variant in its Exter Hy-CNG Duo lineup. The variant is priced at Rs 7,50,700 (ex-showroom), offering a more affordable bi-fuel option to Indian car buyers looking for an efficient and eco-friendly vehicle.
With this latest addition, Hyundai aims to make its sustainable mobility solutions more accessible to a wider audience. The new variant continues to carry the Exter DNA with enhanced safety, practicality, and reliability—now coupled with the convenience of a CNG-petrol dual fuel system.
Speaking about the launch, Tarun Garg, Whole-Time Director and Chief Operating Officer at Hyundai Motor India, said, “We are committed to offering smart mobility solutions that match the evolving expectations of our customers. The introduction of the EX variant in the Exter Hy-CNG Duo range reflects our focus on delivering affordability, efficiency, and Hyundai’s signature reliability in one complete package.”
Hyundai Exter Hy-CNG Engine
The EX variant gets Hyundai’s trusted 1.2-litre Bi-fuel Kappa engine, tuned for both petrol and CNG. It delivers a power output of 82 hp and 113 Nm of torque. The dual-cylinder CNG setup is designed to offer better luggage space without compromising on performance.
In terms of safety and features, the Exter Hy-CNG Duo EX comes equipped with six airbags as standard, a 4.2-inch digital instrument cluster with TFT MID, H-signature LED tail lamps, keyless entry, and driver seat height adjustment. The interiors remain roomy and functional, with Hyundai claiming improved boot space thanks to the smart cylinder layout.
The Exter range starts at Rs 6.20 lakh (ex-showroom) and competes in a crowded compact SUV space alongside models like the Tata Punch, Maruti Suzuki Fronx, and Nissan Magnite. With the addition of this new EX variant, Hyundai is eyeing a stronger presence among budget-conscious buyers looking for a reliable CNG-powered SUV.
