Re: My Hyundai Grand i10 Asta (O) Petrol Ownership Review

The braking is more linear than the sudden bite in low speeds. It stops in a straight line without a fuss. I'm quite confident that the car will stop as intended even on sudden braking maneuvers even on high speed. The unwanted bite is usually felt at low speeds as usually the braking in low speeds may not need a sharp bite and the grand's brakes do bite sharp. I'm quite used to to the brakes now but sometimes I do too get the extra sharp bite when I don't need it.

I drove my brother's eon and stopped about 10-15 meters ahead of my intended stop as the brakes didn't bit as I intended them to being used to of the grand's brakes. He too doesnt feel comfortable driving the grand because of its brakes. So yea it takes some time to getting used to and un-used to of the grand i10's brakes.
Thanks a lot for such a detailed reply and guidance. if I increase the tyre size to 185
Will it increase confidence for braking as grip would be more ?

@furious driver thanks very much for the reply and as I said I am very much adapt to its braking and also your reply increases my confidence in highways driving too. As you all answered my all queries and also with regard to integrated seats, there is somewhere in my mind , it creates disturbance of what happens during long drives with respect to integrated seats on long highway drives and as i am 6 ft , will it crete any pains ?
So far I have done two highway runs which is 290kms one way x 4. I haven't had any issues with integrated seats and I am not that tall(about 5'7"). But for 6' adjusting the height of seat will do, I guess.

Hi Guys,
So after all the wrenching and countless comparisons. After weighing out all the pros and cons, I am now pretty certain that i will go for this Korean princess, the grand i10. As grand i 10 owners, i would need your suggestions on what all accessories i should ask the SA before finalizing the deal. Because he has told me he can't work out much on cash discounts, apart from what the company is offering. But he is willing to help me out with few freebies. So i was wondering what all i could ask

Which dealer and petrol or diesel ? What's the final price ?
I am going for petrol Asta (o). I have been checking multiple hyundai showrooms. Most of them have the same deal. Official quote is 4k on sticker price. I have not had a detailed discussion to come down the final possible price. And also i wanted the accessories list before i can sit down with SA for negotiation.

I have booked the Grand i10 sports 1.2. Got 4K gift check and 10K exchange bonus from Hyundai and Seat covers and other basic accessories from the dealer as a December month offer. A 2014 November made model is available in stockyard is for ready delivery, do I need to wait for fresh piece from factory which will be delivered in next 2 week. Also the dealer is asking for the full payment before registration. Is that okay to pay the full amount before registration?

Guys, I got my horn upgraded this weekend and not happy with it :(
This time i tried in a small shop near by to my home and they failed to do a good job.
Went ahead and finalized Hella and he said Relay needs to be added. After doing all set up , the horn sound is bit harsh , not the sweetest you get in so called "Skoda Horn". Went and complained yesterday , he changed the relay , but still same result :(. Also he connected relay to battery and to ground... not sure if this is the regular practice... Now i am thinking of 2 options, 1) ask him to remove everything and put the OEM Horn back 2) go to some other shop and get it fixed. What do you suggest? And will connecting relay void warantty?

Do a PDI and once you are okay with it, you can go ahead. Wait for 2 weeks and take a new one but don't forget to do a PDI. if you are not satisfied during pdi, then dont proceed with the payment.

I dont think you need a relay for the horn. The amperes for the horn is 5A i think and while buying an after market horn just check the required amperes it needs. Most "skoda type" horns fall in the 5A category. I have a roots windtone horn and it works perfect. Its been over a year with them. I needed a relay for my alto as the battery couldnt support the "Skoda type" horn on its own.

I haven't tried a tyre upgrade on my car so can't comment on it first hand. I would however assume that the overall grip of the car wold increase specially while doing sharp corners. On straight highway runs you may not really feel the difference of the upgrade. The braking would change to some extent after the tyre upgrade but to what extent, I can't say.

I accept that Grand i10 brakes have sharp bite. But let me tell you its just a matter of getting used to it. I had braked it several times in emergency situation and it came to stop in straight line and without jerks, even fellow passengers were comfortable.

I was travelling on NH9 at speed of approx 90KMph. Suddenly i noticed some uneven patch on road where i applied brakes and my Grand dropped its speed from 90 KMph to 15 KMph without any jerk, from that day onwards i feel confident of its brakes.

So don't worry much about its brake bite and no need to upgrade tyre size as well, just enjoy the ride.

Re: My Hyundai Grand i10 Asta (O) Petrol Ownership Review

Hello to all,

I have purchased grand i10 week ago in Golden Orange color and today I got my heart break. A big stone came under my car and made some scratches, also some part of roof under body got inside. Don't know what to do. I don't think it's a big mistake but my heart is pumping since I came to know about this. It's under the left side down at between both the Window under body.

Please find the place in the attachment.

Please give suggestions.

I dont think this is correct. OEM Horn is 10A and the Hella Horn that i got is 16A, so relay is needed i guess.

Re: My Hyundai Grand i10 Asta (O) Petrol Ownership Review

Does adding relay more than the default amps void warranty ? Is it good or adviceable to change horns ( as local mechanic might not be aware of airbags sensors or wires if any ) and he might tamper the airbags sensors / wires ?
