Friends do anyone know how much is the exact fuel capacity of the 2nd Gen i20 (the uber i20), It is said that the actual capacity is 45L, but last week i filled in petrol and it took 46L of petrol in it. the strange thing was the fuel indicator wasn't even Blinking(in the supervision cluster), that shows that min 7L of petrol was still in the Tank.
Can anyone here exactly knows how much is the fuel Tank capacity of i20..???

Well, if you use auto-cutoff, then it means you filled the mentioned capacity. But in our pumps, people used to fill up to the brim. So it crosses the actual capacity and petrol is filled in outer section too! It happens. Xcent has 43L capacity, but I often fill it with 45-46L!

Thanks you bro, as per your explanation does it hold true that my i20 fuel capacity is 52L as i have mentioned earlier that there was 6-7L in the tank and i filled 46L.

If this is true than how should we calculate average.?

Guys as i have booked my car few days and shreenath dealer told me that delivery would be done in 30 days.

I would like to know when do i make the car loan payment to the dealer ? is it when we receieve the VIN number or when the car goes for registration that time i need to make the full payment.

Are you sure you were paying attention when you were getting petrol filled ? There are petrol pump attendants who do stuff like these, don't reset the meter etc.

Anyways even my verna when it's completely dry took in just 38 liters and i guess the tank capacity is 43-45. So no way 46 liters can go into your i20.

I think they will ask for money before giving it for registration. Anyways you have to pay , pay after getting the vin details.

Yes, indeed I was paying attention coz i wanted to know my car's average as I was returning back from a weekend trip. to my surprise he was filling and filling, I checked the meter for ZERO and it was. One thing I remember that the auto cut came at 38.54L and further he kept on filling till some amount of petrol started flowing out. on closely inspecting the same I saw that the tank was full, not even a drop can be fitted further and eventually that made me confused and finally couldn't calculate the average.

My Xcent while dry(means roughly 4-5lts) will easily take 41-42L range, which sums up to 47L capactiy, while the specs say it is just 43L. So I guess he might have filled it upto the brim, or as you said, someone might have cheated him!

Again how can 6 liters go in after auto cut. Auto cut can happen if there is a splash even then max that should go in would be 2 liters. And you should stop when it auto cuts. Make it a habit to stop the attendant to fill more petrol no matter how odd is the amount.

@ furious that's a lot. The 38 liters i mentioned was when i kept on driving on the blinking fuel bar. Normally average refill is 35 liters. Have you filled more than 40 liters at amy time ?

You can make full payment when the car is being sent for registration. But before all that, ask for VIN number from the dealer and check the car personally.

Yes the tank was filled till the Brim and as 'allhyundaicars' said, it is ideal to fill fuel till the auto cut, which also helps in keeping a track of average.

As you said its ideal to fill in fuel till auto cut, but in case we fill to the brim regularly than we can get extra fuel, which will result in longer travel range (isn't it good)?? Or filling beyond auto cut has its own disadvantages? can you throw some light on this please as am very serious to know average of my car.

The tank capacity is 43L. But I filled it with 41-42L when it is dry(which can easily do 40km range in city means 4-5L). It's not rare case, at times I tend to forget to fill up and it is always this case with me. Once it start blinking, I go fill up and not even single time in such scenario I filled less that 40L!

Nothing, I find it more easy to calculate FE and fuel spilling while full-tank is disgusting as hell. And the reason the guys leave space in fuel tank, is so that the fuel can expand during hot weather. So I don't want that not to happen!

Any idea when will the AVN will launched for Elite I20? I came to know different reliable sources that it will be part of the Elite I20 from July 2015. But when I enquired the same with Hyundai SA, they are like falling from sky. They don't even know about the AVN for Elite I20.
I am 100% sure it will be launched this month and has confirmed by Hyundai HO, Chennai.
If someone has nay Idea please do let me know. I know anks1982 saw a demo of this in Hyundai dealer while booking his car.

anks1982 saw a demo in his showroom in mumbai. I hv attached the pictufe of the avn system in my previous thread. please check. But here in west bengal they are like falling from sky.
