Chinese tech giant Huawei and automaker Chery have unveiled the latest addition to their Luxeed lineup of electric vehicles. The new R7, available in Max and Ultra trims, is part of the Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA) and promises to deliver a longer driving experience for consumers.

The Luxeed R7 has a sleek and aerodynamic design, with dimensions measuring 4956 mm in length, 1981 mm in width, and 1634 mm in height. Its drag coefficient of 0.247Cd helps maximize efficiency, and there's an optional package that adds a rear diffuser and wing for customers looking for a sportier appearance.

Underneath the stylish exterior, the Luxeed R7 is built on Huawei's Tuling platform, featuring a front double wishbone and rear multi-link independent suspension. Continuous variable damping comes standard, adjusting the ride for optimal comfort and handling.

A key highlight is Huawei's new "intelligent silent" EREV technology. This system manages the 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine, which acts as a range extender, minimizing vibrations during start-stop operation by a claimed 90%. Both new trims are equipped with a 67-liter fuel tank to support the extended range.

Both the Max and Ultra versions use a 53.4 kWh ternary lithium battery pack and benefit from Huawei's Giant Whale 400V platform, allowing for rapid charging from 20% to 80% in just 15 minutes. The rear-wheel-drive Max trim achieves a CLTC pure electric range of 360 km and a total CLTC range of 1673 km. Its rear electric motor produces 227 kW (304 horsepower), enabling a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in 7.4 seconds.

The all-wheel-drive Ultra trim features Huawei DriveONE dual motors, with a 155-kW front motor and a 227-kW rear motor. This setup results in a quicker 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time of just 4.9 seconds. The Ultra offers a CLTC pure electric range of 331 km and a total range of 1551 km.

nside the cabin, Huawei's HarmonyOS 4 operating system powers a modern and user-friendly experience, with a large 15.6-inch central control screen and a 12.3-inch full LCD instrument panel. Standard features across the R7 range include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated, heated, and massaging seats. The front seats offer a "zero-gravity" option, an 18-way electric adjustment, a 10-point massage system, and a 340-millimeter heated leg rest for ultimate comfort.

The Luxeed R7 Max is priced at RMB 299,800 (approximately €37,300), while the Ultra trim costs RMB 319,800 (around €39,800).
