don't worry about gear changes and all. Change as per the speed and your comfort[;)]. I generally switch off the engine if wait is more than 30 seconds

Will too much gear changing between 2-3-4 cause faster clutch wear and possible damage to gearbox ? Haven't gone through user manual in detail but is there any recommendation as to when we must switch off the ignition in traffic signals? Does it make sense to switch off ignition for a signal wait of 30 - 60 seconds ?

Since you are in the run-in dont let rpm level go past 2500 for the first 1000 kms. Change gears accordingly.

Dont switch off the ignition at traffic lights. The reason is the engines takes in more petrol when you start the engine than when its at idle.

What if you know you have to wait for 2 -5 minutes maybe like for Eg Silk Board in Bangalore. Usually there is some math to determine at what point(time) the fuel needed to idle is more than fuel needed to restart. I read somewhere for modern cars it could be about 45-60 seconds so was hence curious whether Honda recommends anything. I am interested in this because not only will it aid FE but reduce pollution.

Yeah you can try using rubbing compound directly. You have to rub the surface with force on the cotton waste. You can feel the rubbing action in your fingers while you do so.

Clutch wears faster if you keep it engaged when accelerating , so keep your left foot off Clutch when driving ,Don't keep it even lightly on it . Ya in traffic you will need to use both but in bumper to bumper traffic , slight tap on clutch is good enough to move the car . Don't switch off , Petrol cars consume more fuel in every start up then in idle mode .

Guys I noticed inside the bonnet that the air intake redirector fixed under-bonnet in older Brios is not there in my car. Has Honda removed it in 2013 models? What is the advantage/disadvantage of it?

@Sid_Cruiser Yes you can turn off the engine at long red lights, say of more than 1 minute. It will save both fuel and environment. Anything shorter is not worthwhile as it will put strain on your starter.

Yeah i try to not ride the clutch but have to use it at junctions in city , for now don't switch off at signals.

Thanks set12 i think it makes sense to switch off at long signals for sure.

Today i noticed a few things , when i reverse the car out of my parking i usually make full turns of the steering wheel in both directions and i was hearing some sound during doing this, think could be tires. Is this normal or could there be some issue? Also when small stones get stuck in the treads of tires it makes sound whenever that part of wheel touches the road and i daily have to manually remove such stuck stones from the treads.

Friends what are the advantages of 3D foot mats, it is just aesthetics or some technical benefits are also there. I like nomad mats installed by Ajay[:)], are they better than the 3D floor mats?

Done with another Happy servicing for my Brio, But, I feel two free services are little less as it covers only 10k kms that too in 6 months.

Honda sell us Petrol vehicle and expect us to drive like a diesel one, Service interval is every 10k kms or 6 months that comes to 1.7k kms per month. I could manage 4.9k Kms[glasses] in 6 months.

I was happy to visit showroom again and I could see 5 Brio's for delivery but, still sale of Brio is on a lower side and sale in tier 2 cities and production constraint of Honda could be the reason for this.

Total exp:-2700rs engine oil for 1350rs and I took their Internal cleaing(pkg) for 1350(inclusive of tax) as I had stains on my back seat(factory fitted) which local guys couldn't remove.

Internal cleaing comprises of seats, roof, door pads and dash cleaning. Outcome is GOOD but, I would suggest 3M for this as I feel price is little on a higher side. PLUS they removed all the black scretches from OVRM which Bikers in traffic did without charging anything[clap].

Gears are smoother now but not as you would like it to behave for being from a Honda factory. Honda could manage everything perfectly then why not gears as well!!!

Traffic woes:-
Distance to home from dealer location e-city:- 14.2kms and F.E was 16.4kmpl(MID) but before reaching Banshankri signal it was 18.2kmpl and as I was out from that it dropped to 16.2kmpl thanks to traffic/signal within 500mts[frustration].

3D foot mats will look good. Nomad mats reduces your effort in cleaning the interior to a great extent. It looks good or not is subjective but very helpfull in keeping the cabin clean. You can do a complete DIY for approx 1000/- INR.
Check your requirement and get going bro :)
