Ford Ranger Coming To India

Fordhas been working towards making more products in India and one more of these is the Ranger.
This could be for the export markets - but the strategy to offer this locally will be known at the Auto Expo 2016.


The new Ranger pick-up is based on the Endeavour platform, which means increased production of the same platform and parts sharing. This will help Ford to reduce the pricing of the Ranger and even the Endeavour.

Ford Ranger has reached ARAI for testing and our sources recommend that this pick-up has been assembled in Ford’s Chennai plant.

Ford Ranger will be in the luxury pickup range & most probably it will compete against Tata Xenon T.

I cant understand the need for a Ranger in India, I believe it will be fully made for export rather than sales, India will never ever accept a pick up truck like Ranger,
The other advantage probably is localization , meaning new Endy might get significantly cheaper over some time because of Ranger,specifically the 2.2 variant
