Ford May Launch Kuga in India

According to my sources, I heard that Ford will be launching the Kuga in 2014 and will be priced around 14-16 lakhs. Basically, in the Yeti territory.
After some research got to see that Kuga comes in both 4x2 and 4x4 variants just like Yeti. Kuga is powered by a 2.0l TCDi engine and a 1.6l EcoBoost engine.

The diesel engine produces 163bhp and 140 bhp respectively. I recently saw a similar article in Motorbeam and according to them it will be loaded with all bells and whistles with the biggest highlight being its hands-free tailgate (The boot will open just by hitting the rear bumper).

This segment is slowly heating up and after Mahindra XUV500's success all manufacturers wants its share from the pie.

Gradually Ford is expanding their product range in India. Most of us are keenly waiting for Ecosport to roll out first. It should provide a fair idea about the pricing sense of Ford. New Kuga looks much better and bigger than the previous models though I hope that if introduced it can break the ice in this unique segment.

Kuga is a direct competetior to the captiva, Hyundai ix35

Really nice looking car. But I doubt if Ford will pit it against Yeti. This will over optimistically be priced in the range of Fortuner, CRV. Will have to wait and see the engine options offered here.

Yep,Ford should indeed bring the Focus to our shores.Kuga may not find many takers.Very few will part with 2 million rupees on a Ford.

I think its the other way round Indians love SUVs and Kuga looks the part and its completely new design and its still very compact in nature not as huge as a CR-V and not as small as Yeti,so it can be a good choice as an alternative to Toyota Fortuner and SSangyong Rexton and Honda CR-V

About Focus, if it comes to India it will be the flop of the decade as in reality Focus has legroom to match say Skoda Rapid/VW Vento, thats all, Focus is more about handling,charm,technology,Power,Engines,and the solidity of brand which Indians wont accept
If Ford brings their Escort sedan which was shown in China Auto show to India, its going to win hears just because its spacious

The 2013 model Ford Kuga has had more than 7 recalls within 1.5 year of it's launch in USA. Not exactly a confidence-inspiring vehicle to introduce in India.

In reality Ford is experimenting everything in USA, the 1.6 ecoboost has 2 states of tune 150 hp and the 180 hp, the 150 hp had some issues while released in Europe in Focus, but 180 did fine so Ford might have thought that the 180 can be made and tested in USA for its full reliability status in Escape/Kuga and its working fine, bow what Ford will do is put all this knowledge in Euro 1.6 ecoboosts to boost Euro and Asian reliability

Sadly that wont happen in India, 2014 is a year where Ford might show some cars in Auto expo and make people wanting to take a look at Ford showrooms but they wont release something really new
The Fiesta facelift is sure to come as well as Endeavor facelift s well nothing more but the Auto expo will be interesting as they might reveal all the linup awaiting India

The kuga is a amazing car . Looks super stylish loaded with features handles superbly just love that crossover .

Ford is already late in our market, Kuga would have had descent success if it had been launched a year back, now SSangyong rexton,Fortuner,new CRV,new Captiva all have entered the market so competition wont allow much success
