Ford Endeavour, currently sold in global markets of Australia, New Zealand, Middle East, and in the Asia-Pacific region as Everest, has now made its way to Argentina. Positioned above the Territory, this seven-seater, three-row Ford Everest is being produced in Thailand and exported to Argentina where it is the company’s largest SUV on sale. It is feature-packed and even gets a 300 bhp engine as well.

Ford has detailed the new Everest SUV drawing attention to aspects such as luxury, technology and performance. There is also speculation that Ford may launch the Everest in India. The Endeavour in India could be renamed as the Everest and Ford India had filed a patent for the same in early 2024.

However, no precise date has been set for Ford Everest to be made available in Indian markets though testing is currently underway. Everest is sold in Ambiente, Trend, Sport, Tremor and Titanium in other markets. In Argentina, Everest is launched in a top of the line Titanium trim only. It gets several off-road capabilities with a 4×4 drivetrain system, shift-on-the-fly and low range gearing along with locking rear differential.

It also comes in with a terrain management system with drive modes that include Mud/Ruts, Normal/Eco, Sand, Slippery and Tow/Haul along with water-wading capacity of 800mm. Features extend to a large panoramic sun roof. It also sports full LED head and tail lamps, a 12 inch infotainment system with Ford’s SYNC 4A system and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity and an 8 inch digital dashboard.

Ford Endeavour (Everest) also gets ventilated and heated seats, power-adjustable front seats with memory function and tri-zone automatic climate control with vents for all three rows. It rides on 20 inch massive wheels enhancing its off road capabilities to an even greater extent.

Safety is also paramount on the Ford Everest with Ford Co-Pilot 360 suite, 9 airbags and a 360 degree camera. The ADAS package comprises of forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, front automatic emergency braking, rear cross traffic warning, blind spot warning and lane departure warning, etc.

Ford has confirmed engine specs for the new Everest in Argentina where it will be presented exclusively with a petrol engine. It gets a 2.3 liter turbo EcoBoost petrol engine making 300 hp power and 446 Nm of torque. It will be mated to a ten-speed automatic transmission, with 4×4 traction, reduction gear and rear differential lock.

Ford is yet to confirm if there will be local manufacture the Everest in Argentina. For a start it will be brought in as an imported model. Pre-sales are set to commence from March 2025 during which time prices will also be announced. For India, however, Ford is expected to plonk a 3.0L V6 Diesel engine in top variants, which will be a more sensible option for Indian buyers.
