My indica headlight level control had died and a replacement switch was no longer in production. The switch worked fine was thinking of doing an LED swap at some time.
But then I got hold of a pack of mini 12v bulbs for another purpose and realised I could use them for this switch. So one fine day...
Dismantled the switch to find the bulb broken. This is a bit strange as it was not broken a few months ago
I desoldered the bulb, and cleared the holes
Fitted the bulb as the same position
Did a test fit in the car - it lights up! Success!
Fitted it back in the switch assembly and fitted everything back- I have backlighting!
The levelling itself is a bit of a bit of hit or miss as I'm using generic headlights which don't work that well with the oe leveler motor, but that's another day.
