"this happens everytime from that Tata workshop the kids are always newly employed whom do not even know driving, playing around with other cars like Indicas and nano always rubbing each other...."

A sad truth that makes it clear why FIAT is still suffering from poor sales.it is not that FIAT doesnt have a good image in customers mind but it is the fact that they dont care that much about the ASS that forces people to advice against buying a FIAT.Everyone was hoping that FIAT would have learned it's lesson with TVS,but alas it is now worse. The service engineers and technicians are of very dubious backgrounds and TATA does not care whether these guys abuse the cars or lie to the customers. The lions share of TATA vehicles are used by people who only care about having the vehicle in running condition. And the service guys expect the FIAT owners to be of the same lot. They dont realise that there is a difference in how a taxi driver looks after his cab and a person who genuinely cares about his vehicle.

1 Yr dream coming true [:D] yep i am booking very late. ANYWAY Better late then never. i love this italian hottie

I need a small favour from you.
The showroom guys say the car is readily available and 2012 model.
They claim that all its feature’s are punto2012 feature’s.

But when I compared the stuff in tech sheet available for 90HP and punto 2012-
I found many items missing.

1. Exact door open indicator.
2. Rear seat Metal back
3. Auto door lock
4. Passenger airbag deactivation
5. Trip calculator
6. Speed limit Buzzer
7. Distance to empty
8. Real time mileage
9. Volume Speed limit
10. HVAC
11. Blue & me USB support.
12. Rear Foot level ac Vents
13. Ground clearance

All these feature’s are available in punto 90 HP what you own?

or should i staill wait.

Goodness what kind of Punto90hp is he trying to sell you ?
Did you check the car physically? please note, spec sheets can be very very wrong and misleading most of them are locally printed by people who have no idea what they are doing.

He is probably selling you whatever he have.
new 2012 punto 90hp is not even launched by manufacturer as far as my knowledge is right.

only 3 variants for 2012 versions are available active, dynamic, emotion which are all 76bhp mjd.

2012 new punto 90HP shall arrive only by july or august of this year which is not much certain too.

13. Ground clearance
We can be quite sure that new 2012 punto shall have more GC viz. 185 mm .to confirm ask him about that.

If possible get the VIN number of the car,we can know all the needfull detail from it which is inscribed on chasis located under the passenger side floor mat .

Punto 90HP is awesome machine which shows its sweetness post 15000km.
If you can acquire it with some heavy discounts I bet do not miss that offer as government is about to raise the taxes on diesel car making it heavier on pocket.

As per fiat plant head... punto90HP is now upgraded and already in market from jan-11

Also kindly confirm u have all these 12 items available in Punto 90 HP u have.

Hi Saran punter,

i think all emotion pack (pre 2012) versions have all these features loaded. To my knowledge the punto 90 HP comes with only emotion pack version.

From 2012 Jan onwards the ground clearence increased to 185 mm from the earlier 173mm.

2012 punto 90HP from jan onwards : It is a news for me

Yes my Punto 90HP have all those above mentioned features.

Very strange and contradictory to what was in news but a good move.

BTW the 2012 punto I have checked so far have nothing special feature in it other than GC and air conditioner changes (as claimed by them) so for them it wouldn't be a big deal to upgrade it.

DID 6000KM .

engine oil looks jet black but still in oily fluid nature.

cleaned the air filter by tapping with a brush and blowing hard ,oh my god that was real dusty something like mini sandstorm came out of it.

cleaning air filter really did show the difference. a huge difference in throttle response!!!!
-----------------------------------------------------------

she is getting smoother and smoother for every km covered.

pick up increased greatly, shows a rev happy ready to run nature, which is really a huge difference from the initial performance.

gear levers got more softer (notchy feeling is wearing out)

engine sounds more smooth and matured .

pedal placement still makes me feel annoyed which could be ignored only for soft clutch and well weighted accelerator pedal.

ground clearance is bit nasty for typical kerala rural roads...i may have heart attack any time soon.

ride quality remain exceptionally great, as usual with Punto'sl!!

WOW what a feeling.

what a car!!

cheers
did you clean the airfilter by yourself?
Do let me know how to do that

Yes but you have to be very careful while doing it. and do it when engine is very cold.

1.care should be taken while removing the 3 nuts of the airfilter hood above the engine.the thread assy is some plastic overdoing the nuts can damage the threads .

2.take out the airfilter from the bay, either tap it gently or use blower to blow out the dirt. take care not to wet it or tear or damage anywhere.

3.then fit it back in exactly opposite of the way you removed.

I often clean it every 500-1000 km depending upon condition it went through.
