Happy that all are safe.

generally in this type people , mostly who do not wear seatbelt add to the expense by hitting the bash board and wind shield.

but 1L by service people is tooooooo much

ilango , 1 lakh is the estimate given by the service guys at concorde. and he further confirmed that the it should be under 1 lakh only but can be assessed only after repairs are completed.
the damages are , radiator, intercooler, bumper, left headlights, horns, front crash bar (dont know the name but metal bumper behind the fibre one) etc.

among these intercooler and radiator are expensive.

thankfully we were trying to get maximum fuel mileage without going above 70 and four of us were on seat belt.

car hit the tire at 40-50kmphapprox,impact was much absorbed by the car we did not even feel anything serious but when we came out and saw the after effects and that huge tractor tire shooting into nearby bush.

at least for 10 minutes nobody appeared we four of us were just trying to contcat RSA,dealers and nearby service centre.

toll free helpline woman connected to a tamil person who was just a towing agent ,nothing he knew about fiat or service centre and he mentioned he need 3 more hours to reach us as he is 50km away and buzy with somebody else and would take the car wherever we want charging Rs.4500 for 50km.

finally called concorde chennai, they asked me to drive the car to chennai if she is moving. i heard the wierd noise of radiator fan brushing against something so i called fiat service centre at my home place(kvr) . they mentioned it is not advice able to drive the car if radiator is leaking overheating can give serious damage to engine so better tow it to nearby SC.
finally i managed to get some local villagers and they arranged tata ace for 15000rupees (200km) and towed.

anyway 495km journey untill the the incident were so much incredible and worth remember for 4 of us. it was very unfortunate one we had such a fate.
we hope she recovers soon and if everything gets perfect we 4 of us will plan one more trip to chennai (for the sake of finishing it).
we were, me (29),my younger brother(23),my cousin brother(19),his neighborhood buddy(19).

Oh, i feel terrible to see your car in that state. After having regular updates of every small thing, it feels depressing to see the member of TAI garage in injured state. Glad to know that everybody aboard is safe.

Oh, i feel terrible to see your car in that state.
feeling as if lost somebody very dear.

How much is covered under insurance?
insurance is from Future generali.
service technician informed me that insurance will cover only 50 percent of plastic and metal.

but today i talked to insurance surveyor where he said 50 percent for plastic and 80 percent for metal.

i hope service center guys wont play anything nasty out of greed.

Such a tragic incident! Happy that all of you are safe.
me too happy and thankfull to god for the same.
i could not be able to forgive myself if something had happened to all young fellows with me.
happy again for the reason that punto do not have serious damage except for front parts which are obviously

Seat belts help, dont they!
yes,seat belt do save!!!
initially the back seaters were ridiculing me saying they do not require it.but when i assured that without seat belts no traveling then they budged.

Its only a rough estimate that the SC adivsor gives before he could start the work only to be cautious. They always keep some extra buffer.

After the Insurance Surveyor inspects and gives a nod to start the job, it is possible that some other parts can also be damaged since the radiator has hit the engine.

RSM, on d'day ,i was totally confused what really fiat RSA means actually.
i called chennai concorde, vellore vst(vijai sales) toll free helpline, kvr kannur, couple of my friends and whoever i thought would help me.
toll free helpline remains biggest bu*^sh## .the lady immediately taught me that it is an accident so whatever to be done would be levied from my pocket. may it be towing or any technician coming for a visit.that is not what i intend to hear in such a serious situation.
then she connected me to a local towing agent who neither understand english nor hindi or malayalam, she said to me that she is also not able to understand him so i had to talk to him directly and she set a conference call where she remained hearing our conversation.
finally after all blah blah and yada yada, she asked "is everything fixed are you satisfied with the deal!!!"
my next call was to vst vellore 50km from accident spot; i got the fone number of GM(chevy) showroom vellore from autowallah, he understood my situation and tried to help. so he called vst vellore and connected me through.
the VST guys simply refused when he heard Fiat. he said, they strictly takes care of tata cars only he woulnt even look at fiat car. when GM guy interupted and requested just to see whether basic things can be fixed at least to make it to chennai.but vst guys started to talk greek and arabic with pressure of 70psi,condensor,radiator blah blah.. so take to concorde chenai we cannot do anything.!!!

i called concorde chennai, and thorougly explained my condition to Mr.Gurumurthi.he was kind enough and requested me somehow bring it to chennai as towing tuck would take hours to reach there and they generally do not tow out of city,he said ,he will try to get the towing charges from insurance and even if we get late he will wait for me.
anyway we reached chennai at 9.30pm before that Gurumurthi called me and said it is too late he will miss his commute,so he asked security guys to take care of my needs which was duly done.

Intercooler max 10k
radiator max 10k
metal and tinkering works 10k
painting hood , bumper 10k
lamps look fine.
anyother cost 10 to 15 k (not needed though.)
maximum this itself cost just 50k max. how come 1L
ilango you may be right , i had some idea about similar cost. so i confirmed why it would shoot upto 1 lakh.
Its only a rough estimate that the SC adivsor gives before he could start the work only to be cautious.
yes vkklyan i heard something similar from Sc guys.

they said it is an estimate, if the radiator doesnt sits properly or any such complication arises the front portion may require cut and weld job which is not easy but time consuming. in that case expenses may shoot up but it wont go above 1 lakh but hover around 80k.
btw for me also it is all new thing
since past 2 years of driving my own car(indica vista and punto almost 23kkm) i havent got a scratch on my rides. i have been driving abroad since last 4 year there also not even a scratch.. but presently i am messed up with insurance, repair accidents etc. learning it..

So sad to hear all your bad experiences buddy. Fiat seriously needs to rethink their JV with TATA , i mean what use if they don't bother to even tow the accidental car!!

Everything needs an experience , this will be a very bad experience for you but you will learn things at the end.

If i had known your number before i would have tried to help you out.
