Years ago 150 or 160cc bikes were available for around Rs 70000. Now even a basic 110cc scooter like Zest costs above Rs 70000 ex showroom & price is higher in non Union Territories. Is it worth spending that much money on new 2 wheeler? Do they have that much to offer especially durability & quality? Or it is better to buy 2nd hand? Will today's 2 wheelers be available at reduced price as 2nd hand after few years?

The value of Rupee has gone down drastically over the years. In 2010, one USD was about 43 or 44 INR and now it is about 81.75 or so.

Inflation in India has gone up and prices of Steel, Aluminium and all other products has gone up. Similarly salaries of factory and other kind of workforce has gone up heavily. The government has also increased all kinds of taxes - Road tax, Insurance premium (GST on Insurance etc.). All these factors reflect in vehicle prices.

Also, new Vehicles come with new improved/advanced features which also add to the cost higher than those in previous years.

In my opinion 2nd hand vehicles are good if one does not want to spend more money initially, but expect to spend more money on repairs, part replacements, etc., which one can save on new vehicles, at least for a couple of years (with manufacturers warranty).

Yes, it depends on the condition of the vehicle. If you get a well maintained vehicle, then may not require any immediate repairs.
