Ampere has launched a new Neo variant of the Magnus electric scooter at Rs 79,999 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Magnus Neo replaces the existing EX variant of the scooter in Ampere’s line-up.
The Magnus Neo is visually quite similar to the other variants, save for a dual-tone paint scheme. It is powered by a 2.3kWh LFP battery, and Ampere claims a real-world range of 70-80km on a single charge. Since the Neo uses an LFP battery (which isn’t as energy-dense as an NMC battery of the same capacity), its claimed range is a little lower than the Magnus EX, which has 80-100km of claimed range.
The Magnus Neo also has a 65kph top speed, which is the highest on any Magnus variant yet. Another difference is that the Magnus Neo runs on 12-inch wheels at both ends, compared to the 10-inch wheels on other variants. The Magnus Neo carries forward the same feature set as the other variants and this is a simple electric scooter with a small digital dash.
Ampere offers the Magnus Neo with a 5-year/75,000km battery warranty and the scooter takes 5-6 hours for a full charge. At Rs 79,999, the Magnus Neo is one of the more affordable electric scooters on sale today and is available in five colours – black, blue, red, white and grey.
