1991 Premier Padmini Restoration

Hello Friends,

After restoration of two Fiat 1100 one in 2011 and other in 2013, I bought a Premier Padmini 1991 make in the month of February 2019 in Pune.

After using for few months I gave this car to RASN designs in Pune for complete restoration.

Mr. Rohit Nagpure is owner of this engineering workshop, by profession he is a BE production.

And the transformation of car begins from here. This time I decided not to keep car stock look, so decided to go for some modifications like custom wheels with radial tyres and custom wheel arches, partial removal of body side trims, painting in two tone colors, custom exhaust, small steering wheel, custom center console etc. etc...

All holes on boot has been closed, as we are not going to install any monogram, holes for number plate also been closed.

Now here is big square window,why?

Fuel lid flap is removed,

Pure white base coat is completed and ready to spray clear coat on it.

Note the differene boot with clear coat and bonnet without.

Custom made side body trim with integrated turn signal lamp.

Till here all work is going smoothly 25 March 2020, here onwards Lockdown started and work has been on hold till may end..

After lockdown we started work with exhaust sysytem.

Headers installed into car.

Complete system is ready to paint.

I dont have pictures of making of speakers box.

We refurbished the ribbon type meter from super select, Its front acrylic plates freshly manufactured with golden lettering. And background is in matt white. Vinyl I used is metallic matt white.

Temp and fuel gauges are altered to match with padmini sensors.

What a lovely thread. Man I am so delighted to see a detailed restoration thread of the iconic Premier Padmini. My dad's 1st car and my family's 1st car was a pre-owned Premier Padmini too that was bought in 1991. We kept it till 2006 and then had sold it and the owner scrapped it within couple of months. When my dad had bought it, the car was in exact same color as your car and infact even mine did not have the front quarter glass. Later it was painted and customized in Pandit & Co, @Okhla, New Delhi. The thread is subscribed. Do update as regularly as possible bro. I am looking forward to the updates on this one quite seriously. All the best. Thanks for this wonderful thread

Rohit is very much happy to see door panels after installaion.

Firstly we made radiator grill in black, but we didnt likd it, so changed to crome aftrwards.

Some touchups with airbrush to damages to paint.

And here is Crome gril, with Fiat logo.

Side trim installation completed.

Front look is completed and now time to put mudflaps.

What a wonderful restoration thread this is! One can not fathom just by looking at the images, the amount of hard work that has gone into it. The level of detailing like the spedometer, or the exhaust, or just look at that engine bay, wow! Happy miles.
